Biden admin braces for possible Trump win, installs 'roadblocks' to stop him from reshaping government: Report

resident Biden's administration and liberal supporters in Washington are bracing for a possible Donald Trump victory in November by installing "roadblocks" to limit the latter's ability to fire thousands of government workers, according to a new report.

The Associated Press reported that a cabal of left-leaning experts, legal advisers and others are confident Biden will be re-elected but are urging him to prepare for the worst: another Trump presidency beginning in 2025.

"My impression is the Biden administration is taking very seriously that potential threat and is trying to do things now," Michael Linden, former executive associate director of the White House Office of Management and Budget under Biden, told the AP. Although he added there was no "magic bullet" to stop Trump if he took office again. "Nobody should be under any illusion that there’s anything that this president can do in advance to prevent the next president from doing things that are very damaging, potentially catastrophically."

The AP reported the "Office of Personnel Management, the federal government’s chief human resources agency, will finalize a rule by April against reclassifying tens of thousands of workers so they can be more easily fired, according to OPM spokesperson Viet Tran." A Biden campaign spokesperson said Trump was "already telegraphing plays straight out of the authoritarian playbook — gutting the civil service of people he deems disloyal and plotting revenge on his political enemies."

A hypothetical Trump administration would take months or even years to unwind it, the AP wrote. The wire service added that other options for Biden to "thwart" a potential succession could include "promoting expanded collective bargaining agreements with federal personnel to beginning the complicated bureaucratic task of designating more government posts as policy-dedicated, thus making workers harder to fire."

We need to ‘wall off’ our money by real property and middle class income tax caps in the state and federal constitutions.

The battle for these caps will gain Republicans votes.

Fighting against such caps will cost Democrats votes.

Pray for majority house and let them deprive agencies of money.

By "majority House" you mean the GOP, right? Please defend your concept that a Republican majority House would do any such thing.

Defunding Federal agencies (and closing the border) would drive a stake through the heart of everything the GOP stands for.

Think the deficit, debt, and interest on that debt don't affect you? 44% of your income taxes this fiscal year have been consumed by just interest on the debt.
No roads. No schools. No hospitals. No military.
Just. Interest.
And it's going up... pic.twitter.com/BbhIvzAipt— E.J. Antoni, Ph.D. (@RealEJAntoni) February 12, 2024

Shut the government down, all of it. When there is some agreement on downsizing, furloughed employees are not paid back pay. That will get rid of a large number.

Every recent Democrat has tried to create as much trouble as possible for his successor--Bill Clinton for George W. Bush and Barack Hussein Obama for Donald Trump.

I don't think Trump had any say in the selection of Robert Mueller.

eal property and middle class income tax caps in the state and federal constitutions.

OK.

2/3 of each House of Congress, and 3/4 of the States, right?

Would "battling" for those caps gain the GOP votes? Maybe.

Would the elected Republicans turn right around and stab you in the back? Of course.

And, since you need 34 Senators and/or 148 Members of Congress to STOP a Constitutional Amendment, do you believe there are not enough soldiers in the Free Stuff Army to elect that many? Obviously there are.

I don't think Trump had any say in the selection of Robert Mueller.

Of course he did!

Robert Mueller received the President's commission, didn't he? Why did he fire Mike Flynn to begin with? Why didn't he fire Rod Rosenstein before the idea of Mueller even became a thing?

Yes, I know McConnell told him he would be impeached and removed if he did that. So what?

We are seven years down the road and a majority of people here still believe in the GOP like kids believe in the tooth fairy,

On day one, Trump should fire the FBI director and leave the position vacant.

Give a wink and a nod to the militias, and let them clean house, starting with the propaganda media. /spit

if you can’t fire them, then use Executive Orders to relocate the big Fed agencies via their various divisions and scatter them around the country in small-town rural areas ... Nome, Alaska would be a perfect place for much of the DC bureaucracy ...

Make Vivek Ramaswamy his Chief of Staff to guide the right appointments and lead the clean up - he has plans on how to legally clean house.

Simple solution.

TrumpII, with clever foresight, unleashes "Know Your Federal Employee" on Day One, a 100-page questionnaire that will provide answers to the general public about how the government works at a personal level.

The database results will be shared with the public, since we are the taxpayers who fund the government.

Whoever is left after that disclosure can turn out the lights...

Democracy is mob rule. That's why our government is supposed to be a representative republic.

Of course now we have a socialistic republic because people can't vote worth a hoot, and do so out of emotion rather than a sound mind.

And, and I'll know get flak for this, because of most women voters. NOT ALL, but most have no concept of how a government is supposed to operate. Sorry ladies.

He should have fired Comey on Jan. 21 (and the Democrats would have applauded because they were still mad at him) and told Jeff Sessions to stay in the Senate. Rosenstein played a double game and may have convinced Trump he was loyal to him. I think Mueller was entirely Rosenstein’s call. But that all seems ages ago.

We aren’t going to be able to vote our way out of this.

Especially when 98% of the people we are permitted to pretend to vote for are fine with the way things now are.

Exactly.
Our Constitutional Republic is an outrigh,t dire threat to their “democracy”.

Just what I was thinking. Provide 40-person open bays to sleep in, chow halls they could eat in, and analog telephone lines. Move as many as needed as fast as you can. Anyone who refuses to move provides justification for termination. And if you fire them in Nome, Alaska for job performance issues, then let them buy their ticket home.
