The Ukrainian military's Group 13 unit claims to have sunk another Russian landing ship, adding to a growing tally of losses for the Black Sea Fleet.
On Wednesday morning, the group released a video appearing to show its suicide drone boats approaching a vessel near shore. The ship - identified by Group 13 as the Caesar Kunikov - has the distinctive open foredeck and tall deckhouse of a Ropucha-class landing vessel. In succession, multiple drones appeared to approach the vessel's hull and detonate, with the explosions captured on camera by subsequent inbound drone boats.
The video ends with the vessel appearing to settle by the stern and then listing heavily to port. Group 13 claimed that it capsized and sank.
Official Russian defense sources have not discussed the attack, but Russian social media accounts have confirmed explosions off Crimea on Wednesday morning. Independent reports in local news also suggested that a SAR operation was under way off the coast....

a lot of real people dying in that “artificial” war
If we intend the war to be won, and to be over, it needs to be fought to be won. This is a creepy and mysterious mid-60s diplomacy-free proxy affair, and it will grow, and there will be more blood and fortune.
The Biden administration has created more money out of keystrokes than any government in history.
Totally created out of completely recycled electrons.
Ukraine has to do all the fighting, so it’s their call as to how they want to conduct the war
So far, they’re making very effective use of limited resources
Want to speed things up? Give them more resources
It appears there were heavy losses of sailors on that Russian ship. I don’t think their families and friends will find that “artificial”.
I oppose Putin and his leading his country into this disaster (the war), but I still am saddened by the loss of life.
When the Ukranians themselves slaughtered their Jews with glee––indeed with so much brutality that Hitler devised his Einsatzgruppen largely to serve as a policing agent for their incessant, vicious theft/rape/torture/murder pogroms––the world didn’t give a rat’s ass.
Now we have our wallets in a great foreign war. Our aid to Ukraine, not including weapons, far surpasses (I believe is now double) the budget of the entire USMC this year. Predictions: 1. The war will not end. 2. The war will make you poorer and make the USA poorer, which Russia likes (have you noticed that with “weapons in space, etc. they are doing to us what we did to them?) And 3. You will never know very much at all about what is going on there, or why.
I am not an isolationist, but I believe in clear war aims. What is our aim? This is not even lend/lease. This is just you giving money to something you (and I) know almost nothing about, under the auspices of our razor-sharp CiC and the Lords of the Universe, last seen at Davos (but never photographed.)
They were even more gleeful when slaughtering Poles.
The US Navy needs to take notice.
Surface ships are nothing more that floating targets in today’s world...............
Right now its the 3rd Azov battalion which got sent into the meat grinder at Andriivka doing the dying.
Federal Reserve Notes are a fiat currency (no gold or silver backing), i.e. they are artificial money.
Large slow targets
Russia has had about 40,000 troops killed just in the last 4 months trying to take that hole
and they still haven’t got it ... that’s some kind of failure, by any objective measure
Mostly we are sending old weapons, not money. The portion of the money appropriated for weapons to Ukraine then goes to buy new weapons for US stocks.
Also, you are comparing a multi-year figure (non-weapons aid to Ukraine, which covers 2022, 2023, 2024, and some portions of the appropriations stretch into future years) with a single year figure for the USMC in 2024 (A little over $53 billion).
Further, I don’t see where you can come up with anything near $106 billion in non-weapons aid to Ukraine in the last 2 years.
I do agree, however, that Biden has failed to lay out clear aims. And granted that I’d be much happier if US aid was limited to weapons & training, and material humanitarian aid. Let the nearly weaponless but rich Euros handle the financial aid.
