Mark Esper, former President Trump’s one-time top Defense official, is joining CNN as a contributor.

Esper, who served as Defense secretary from July 2019 to November 2020, has been hired as a full-time contributor, the network announced Wednesday. He will serve as a “global affairs analyst and political commentator.”

After leaving government, Esper became a partner and board member at the venture capital firm Red Cell Partners and currently serves on several private capital and public policy boards and works as a corporate consultant.

During a recent guest appearance on CNN, Esper said he agrees with concerns about Trump retaliating against government officials who have criticized or crossed him.

Et tu, Esper?
Joining CNN as a commentator is never a good sign, and their commentators are selected on the basis of their willingness and ability to push the narrative.

And this is why trump has problems. He hired the biggest bunch of money grubbing, back stabbing, deep state cutthroats to run his agenda that you ever saw this side of Blazing Saddles...

[hedley lamarr] I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers and Methodists.

[taggart] could you repeat that?

Lets all remember that Trump deep sixed Esper out of his job when he decided he didn’t have to follow Trump’s orders on Eddie Gallagher.

Here’s a clue. The fact that they’re even hiring this guy actually means CNN thinks Donald Trump will be elected President in November. Good news, actually. They know Joe is cooked and he won’t drop out.

It’s a problem of coming from the corporate world. In that world, you can hire a bunch of greedy lying narcissist sociopaths, and most of the time, their scumminess can work to the corporation’s advantage. Doesn’t work in the people’s advantage when those types are in the government though.

Hired by CNN, which means no one will be watching him stab Trump in the back.

There are over 4000 federal political appointments to be made, of which 1200 need Senate approval.

I challenge anyone to find 4000 perfect people, who want the job, and can pass the whackjob Senate approval process. Then, when one goes rogue, or is compromised by the deep state, the media puts them on a pedestal and the left financially rewards them.

It doesn’t take many bad eggs with bright spotlights on them to make it look like a larger problem.

I honestly think Trump picked a lot of swamp creatures thinking they would be loyal to him for the "honor" of being picked. Or, maybe he thought it would be interpreted as an effort of "unity/ reaching across the aisle".
I hope he has learned his lesson.
