Manitoba woman devastated over delay in MAID for mental illness (medical assistance in dying) CBC trying to make it sound 'nice'?

Cathy Van Buskirk, who lives with complex and debilitating mental disorders, says she is heartbroken by the federal government's decision to delay her ability to access a medically assisted death.

Eligibility for medical assistance in dying (MAID) was set to expand in March to include people with mental illness, something that had given Van Buskirk hope that her suffering from severe mental illness would come to a peaceful end on her terms.

But federal Health Minister Mark Holland introduced legislation Thursday that would delay the expansion of MAID to include those suffering solely from mental illness until 2027, a move he said was needed until Canada's health-care system is ready to implement the expansion.

Van Buskirk says the delay is exclusionary and stigmatizes an already vulnerable population.

"The government's making it even worse by not recognizing and not including us," she said. "My illness causes me grievous amounts of pain and suffering, just as someone who would suffer a physical one."...

The stupidity of this nonsense is obvious... The ridiculous notion that you need the government to 'sanction' your suicide is completely hilarious.

She's been 'waiting' three years, and submitted her own photo (looking for attention much?)

Here's a suggestion... Find the nearest bridge and fill your boots. If you want my permission, or need the states... Then go **ck yourself. Hopefully that won't hurt her 'feelings', but since she's checking out anyways... Who cares?

In Manitoba she can off herself just by walking outdoors for a while in February.

What happens when they start declaring people opposed to the government as being ‘mentally ill’?

History of the Soviet Union tells us that.

They probably don't want to kill her because she's a reliable liberal voter.

People are so lazy nowadays, they can’t even bother killing themselves anymore. They need the government to do it for them. She needs to pull herself up by her bootstraps and jump out a window.

The whole “Medically assisted Suicide” started with the Courts. Not with politicians.

Oh, they were ready to jump on the bandwagon, but the politicians let the Courts lead. Just like they did with homosexual “marriage”.

Canada is now a culture of death and self-destruction, led by elites who have pushed these ideas.

And this sad woman. She is not just suicidal, but she wants the medical system to somehow “validate” her choice. And co-opt the entire society as her enablers.

Pray for us !

The Lord’s Deliverance is all we have left.

Correct— Create an absolute Hellscape for a social backdrop, then wait for people to lose their minds trying to understand what’s happened to their reality. Then wait for them to plead for their rulers to kill them off. That’s our world.

Life is hard enough for the families of those who kill themselves, enduring the loss and the betrayal. Now the government wants to help them do it.

At least when my father killed himself, his illness died with him.
