Before the 1950s, an
estimated
5.5 million coho salmon, Chinook salmon and steelhead returned to California rivers as part of their natural life cycle. In 2022, only 93,000 of the iconic fish spawned in the state’s rivers, a number so low it prompted closure of the commercial fishing season.
A report released by CalTrout in 2017 in partnership with the UC Davis Center for Watershed Sciences found that 74% of California’s native salmon, steelhead, and trout species are likely to be extinct within a century or less if present trends continue

Well, it’s not like California needs those dams. Not like there’s even been a drought in this state.

really ?
how bout you pay my monthly rate hike ?
you must like to spend other peoples money like a good commie.
Or power generation for the electric car folly. What’s the average IQ of the typical California legislators? 90? Cheap power from Washington and Oregon is over too since they share the same mental retardation concerning damns.
fun fact
most dams are for flood control
to save lives
and property
most progs dont give a damn about that,,. the narrative and deconstruction to bring about utopua is all they care about.
Pretty sure it was sarcasm,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The leftists have already breached the dam near my old home of beautiful views and landscape. It’s now covered with deadly acres of silt with the wildlife stuck in the sludge suffering horrible deaths. Our property values are destroyed. No compensation. They burned us out and we came back... We’ll never come back from this.

Does he know how bad irrigation of farmlands will be? Nothing returned ever to water tables? More drought because of shitpoor water maintenance?
thank you
apologies to angelino97 if it was sarcasm
btw
shasta lake is full ,and ca. has been flooding
no drought for a couple years now.
Scientists hoping to prove elephants can fly are estimating that they likely can fly if they flap their ears fast enough.
It does make me wonder where dam removal ranks in the plans “Our Glorious Benevolent WEF Betters” have for us.
Used to live in Riverside.....Which rarely had a river. LOL...And most of it was lined with concrete..
Uh, sarcasm.
we had years of severe drought, and will again most likely.
we need more dams not less.
This is going to be awesome to watch once they remove the Rindge Dam in Malibu, boneheads don’t realize it was put there for major flood issues. Serra retreat Homeowners, which is quite a bit, are going to have their multi million dollar homes flushed out to sea, and the one on High Ground will become Isolated.
When Shasta Dam was designed to be raised in the future for added capacity. ‘Sacred’ areas now prevent that. The flow changes of the Klamath at Seiad could be seen to rise and fall as Iron gate ran turbines for Pacific Power and Light.
Now the river has flatlined and the smart people decided to put the estimated 17 million cubic yards of sediment down river. The Fish Police banned gold dredging because they claimed sediment killed fish. I could go on for a week.

Double crossed again.
Indeed. All those years, all those miles to try to stop this. It’s worse than we ever imagined. Everywhere I have lived my entire life is a burned out ( by Portland anarchists) or sludge covered heartbreak. I feel like I’m the sole survivor of a war zone.
