Left Wing Local Council Hits EV Owners with Extra Charges to Park Outside Their Homes

A left wing local council is slapping massive parking charges on electric vehicles (EVs) in the name of protecting the environment.

EV owners will also pay to park outside their homes for the first time in Westminster, Central London, with the charge being levied as part of a broader “climate change” package of imposts brought in by the Labour council.

The Sun reports local residents will find their general parking discount is axed from April — in a bid to achieve net zero.

I believe in this case, paying higher “parking charge” for EV owners means EV’s quit getting free charging. If I understand it, until now the EV parkers were paying the same as ICE parkers even though the EV parkers were getting free charge too.

I was trying to get a handle on this issue and found the following about parking in say your apartment parking lot, yes you have to pay London to park there…

The water rates charged on parking facilities are for the drainage systems and are set by Thames Water.​

This is already happening in California. Tesla charges around 60 cents per kWh in some locations.
