Sotomayor overwhelmed by demanding SCOTUS workload: ‘I live in frustration’

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor vented about being “tired” from her demanding workload on the high court as well as her “frustration” with the conservative-dominated bench.

Speaking to a group of students at the University of California, Berkley School of Law, the 69-year-old jurist opened up about the vicissitudes of serving on the court while increasingly in the political crosshairs.

“Cases are bigger. They’re more demanding. The number of amici are greater, and you know that our emergency calendar is so much more active. I’m tired,” she said, per Bloomberg Law.

“”What does she do in the summer?””

They’ve not in session after the decisions come down in June and don’t go back to work until October! I guess she would have us believe that they are working 12 months of the year. Who knows? Maybe they go to the office all those OFF months! LOL

Associated Press reported that her staff has often “prodded” public institutions that have hosted the justice to buy her memoir or children’s books — works that have made her at least $3.7 million since joining the Supreme Court and continue to rake in six-figure royalty payments annually.

She’s lazy. If she don’t want to do her platinum coated job then she should just quit.

I read some conservative jibes at her saying she almost never cites precedents in cases and seems to rely on her prejudices and feelings in SCOTUS decisions.

Some “wise Latina.”

Then she should step aside and retire if she can’t hack it.

Whiner.

Sonia should retire after SCOTUS' term ends in June. That's a couple of months from now.

Even if Biden wins reelection, it's looking like the Senate will turn red. Then Biden won't be able to replace Sonia.

I’m confused, she’s the only justice hearing all the cases including ALL those emergency hearings that take up her entire summer? What a sniveling, self absorbed, pompous ass.

She’s an activist judge, period. As is the one Biden appointed.

Kagan seems to blow in the wind a bit, definitely a leftist, but still seems to have some grasp of the law.

Sotomayor is just a flat out activist, the law and constitution do not matter, just what she fees is right.

I think she’s saying “I miss my siestas.”

She could always quit.

Oh they’ll push it through before November...

Try to use it as some battle cry to motivate their troops who have absolutely no enthusiasm for Biden.

There is zero law that says. they have to wait until after the election to nominate and appoint.

Dems control the Senate until Jan.. they will force someone through...

I suspect this is just what it appears to be, a little baloon to signal that her retirement and replacement is coming.

As I said, she’s 69, she’s a type 1 diabetic, She may live through another presidential term, but that would be a big gamble, that I don’t see the left taking. They’ll want her gone now so they can replace her before they lose the Senate.

We shall see... but I would not be at all surprised if she retires this year.

The Wise Latina, so in touch with the little people that she isn’t self-conscious in the least complaining about not having three months uninterrupted off each year.
