Megyn Kelly is joined by Andrew Klavan, author of "The House of Love and Death,” to discuss major layoffs at the Los Angeles Times, Sports Illustrated potentially shutting down, media outlets losing audience and money after going woke, and more.
> She seems to have recreated herself. <
People learn, and people change for the better. But has Megyn Kelly truly apologized for the unprofessional way she treated Trump during a 2015 presidential debate?
If so, good for her. Welcome back.
If not, she’s still a phony today.
I think that process had something to do with Rupert Murdoch aging out of control of his company.
Megyn may be discovering there’s also good money to be earned by reporting the truth (imagine that!).
I love Meghan Kelly (easy on the eyes and clever too) even if I don’t always agree with her. I watched this podcast yesterday and highly recommend it highly.
I used to like Megyn, mostly that is. I didn’t appreciate her girlishness approach to more serious topics and she presented more than a bit of a ME attitude. Not a thoroughbred Conservative, of course. She once talked about “white privilege” (in the age of affirmative action and minority privilege, yet) as a given, and something that needed to be addressed. I pretty much stopped watching her after that.
Megyn Kelly went from one of the highest paid female new anchors to the journalistic equivalent of scrubbing toilets for her attack on Donald Trump.
Her news show is generally pretty good. I watch it sometimes.
I am a business raccoon and it isn't about the money so much as it is the stupid thing (Wokeness) that caused the lack of money.
Plenty of newspapers and magazines lose money from time to time...but this red ink is special.
So, who hasn't had a career setback as they went through.
America's great strength is that we recycle failure.
Failure is how we learn. The more painful the failure, the better the lesson, an the more information we can gather.
Because we don't forever hang the scarlet "F" around people's necks, we benefit from the things they learned by getting slapped down.
She may even go down the same path again, who knows? For now, she's saying things I like. I don't expect more. She's just a media figure.
They are not terminating journalists. They are firing propagandists. Liberal billionaires are tired of losing money and are starting to worry that Trump will be re elected.
When the entire universe tells me the same story I just have to assume it’s a lie. Here’s my contrary view. Mainstream media isn’t shutting down because it’s losing money. The people who have supported it have been ok with losing money for decades. They have infinite resources. They are closing things because power has been consolidated to the point where the media is no longer needed. Media influences elections. We don’t care how you vote anymore.
lol!
That’s a very well written insult.
Good catch. I watch a lot of Klavan’s stuff but hadn’t seen this one yet.
I'm ambivalent about Kelly, but this video is worth watching in it's entirety .
They lay out the reasons that the msm is becoming the last person off of the ship.
As Bumpy Johnson said in "The American Gangster",
"If you don't know, you don't know".
What’s behind it?
In marketing, you learn that dogs don’t eat crappy dogfood.
She still won’t acknowledge the steal.
She was Tucker before Tucker.
Let’s look at SI. Very good sales when they are writing about sports and have pictures of athletes in action. Sales jump when they have a swimsuit edition once a year, featuring very attractive women in expensive swimsuits in attractive locations. (Little known bit: even women like to look at attractive women in expensive swimsuits, if not for the same reason as men.)
So what goes wrong? First they kill the golden goose by getting less than attractive, and downright ugly, models, some of whom are men. Second, their sports takes a backseat to cultural bulldada.
100% correct. I had an SI print subscription for 3 decades. But I have no interest in a swimsuit issue that features trans models (aka male transvestistes), 80+ models aka Martha Stewart and fat models.
They committed hari-kiri
Its just a normal cyclical byproduct of growth and a booming economy. Like giant snowstorms thanks to global warming.
