With the presidential primary season now underway, the season of political campaign ads is also in full swing. On Sunday, some football fans in Pennsylvania watching the NFL playoff game between the Detroit Lions and the San Francisco 49ers will see a minute-long ad attacking Donald Trump as he seeks a third Republican nomination for president.
Made by VoteVets, a progressive political action committee that advocates for veterans and military families, the ad criticizes Trump for past comments where he disparaged veterans and soldiers. The ad includes quotes attributed to Trump where he called fallen soldiers “losers” and “suckers.”
The segment features three Gold Star family members naming their children and stepchildren killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan. “My son is not a loser,” one mother says.
Later, she says, “My message to Donald Trump is this: You have no right. You’re the real loser here.”
In a tweet posted Friday announcing the ad, VoteVets said, "These Gold Star Families are standing up, and their message clear: Valor and sacrifice are beyond Trump's understanding.”
According to The Hill, the “six-figure ad buy” will play in the Pittsburgh, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Harrisburg areas. President Joe Biden won the battleground state of Pennsylvania, a key state for any presidential candidate seeking to win in November, by 80,555 votes in the 2020 election. The Keystone State holds its presidential primary election on April 23.

Inserting a downer of a political commercial reminding citizens of the fact that the FJB regime cut and ran from Iraq, abandoning people and materials is, shall I say, a mistake.

It’s an ad. There is no equal time provision for an ad. There isn’t even an equal time provision on news anymore. There hasn’t been for a long time.
Dropping that provision was the reason Rush Limbaugh was allowed on the air at the start.

And it’s a bald faces lie that Trump called our military dead “losers”. General Kelly is an anti-Trumper and he was there at the event in question. He flatly said it never happened.

It's a political ad produced by an organization supporting Biden.
Organizations supporting Trump can produce and air their own ads as well if they choose. Nothing stopping them. Unless, of course, they don't have the money.
Excuse me, Mr. Vermont (BTW your governor was the only one not to stick with Gov. Abbott on Biden’s border violations). Trump years ago donated one million dollars for a party honoring Vietnam veterans; I don’t believe a single one of these comments as they are about as reliable as Russian collusion or Beau Biden being a war hero.
