Rand Paul on Ukraine Funding: ‘When Did We Become the Sugar Daddy of the World?’
The Messenger ^ | Jan 25 | Zachary Leeman

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., wants the United States to stop being the "sugar daddy of the world."

In a Thursday interview on Fox Business' Mornings with Maria, the Libertarian-leaning Republican laid into proposed funding for Ukraine.

President Joe Biden has pushed a $100 billion spending package that includes spending on Ukraine, Israel, and the United States' own southern border. Republican lawmakers, however, have pushed back against Ukraine funding, some wanting it cut altogether and some arguing for larger border reforms in exchange.

Paul said it's not "entirely clear" how proposed humanitarian funding for Gaza and Israel is being split up, and he used the Gaza support to make a larger point about the U.S. supporting "both sides" in wars as Hamas is in control of Gaza.

"You know, they're going to expect us to clean up and repair Ukraine when it's done, being destroyed. The same with Gaza. Gaza is being destroyed but who's going to have to pay for it?" Paul said. "They expect us to pay for it, and I don't want a penny going to Hamas or any of these people."

Paul said he has "sympathy" for the people of Gaza, but argued the United States should not be expected to fork over the bills.

"Look, I have great sympathy for those who live in Gaza and the mess that they're in, and I wish it would stop, but I don't think we should always have to pay for everything," the senator said. "When did we become the sugar daddy of the world?"

So they expect the U.S. taxpayer to pay for Ukraine and Gaza mess?

You NEED Donald Trump.

In all fairness to Ukraine, the Biden regime and neocons WANTED this proxy war. Ukraine was close to negotiating an end to it in Turkey of March of 2022 before we and Boris Johnson killed the deal.

It's time Rand confronted those in his own party that have and continue to push for more funding for this war.

10 miles of the wall, Ukraine gets $1 billion. That’s a reasonable compromise.

Not one dime more for Ukraine if one Republican allows it a lot of Republicans should suffer and I don’t care if Trump endorses them pleading with me to support them in November.

Our DC elites do NOT feed Ukraine with arms and money to benefit Ukraine - they do it to benefit THEMSELVES.

‘When Did We Become the Sugar Daddy of the World?’

Sometime in the thirties.

Could be the teens because that was when we started getting involved in Europe's problems.

Especially when we have to borrow the money to do it and can’t even take care of our own problems. Game over or should be so.

He has a point.

At least ccp is smart enough to get country leaders to sign on the dotted line if they don’t repay.

We be dumb.

Could be the teens because that was when we started getting involved in Europe's problems.

We should have declared an "embargo" after the Sinking of the RMS Lusitania and restricted trade with the UK, France, Germany for the duration of the war.

I think the war would have ended in a stalemate. Germany wouldn't have gotten rid of their Kaiser. Therefore, no Hitler. Which means no WWII.
