CEO Bob Bakish announced layoffs at the media company Thursday, citing a need to “operate as a leaner company and spend less.”

“Our priority is to drive earnings growth. And we’ll get there by growing our revenue while closely managing costs — a balance that will require every team, division and brand to be aligned,” Bakish said in a memo to employees.

IMHO, you don't "drive earnings growth" and grow your revenue by filling your shows with garbage like this:

I still remember them chopping up shows as they fed them to DVD around 2001 when I had just seen the uncut originals on Nick at Nite five years earlier.

I thought Paramount was doing great after forcing Chiefs fans to buy a subscription to watch the playoff game?

Notice how every corporate statement from these companies is always full of the usual rah-rah nonsense, instead of just saying, “The basic problem is, our movies suck”

Maybe it’s a silver lining to the cloud of Biden’s (or COVID’s) economy.

America sure deserves a break from the sewage that comes out of Hollwierd.

Oh, what fun...../s

“Dear Santa” is an upcoming Paramount American Christmas fantasy comedy reboot-——a young boy accidentally mixes up his spelling and sends his Christmas list to Satan instead of Santa.

Bobby Farrelly is directing and producing, with Peter Farrelly as producer along with Jeremy Kramer. The Farrelly Brothers and Ricky Blitt have written the script from an original idea by Dan Ewen. The cast was set in March 2023 with Jack Black in the lead role. Principal photography began in March 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia.

What Paramount could do is try to replicate it’s past successful business model by making fun, thoughtful or engaging movies like Raiders or Chinatown or The Godfather or Ferris Buellers Day Off..... nah! Just keep churning out topical woke propaganda.... Yeah. That’s the ticket. More preachy movies from the worst pack of perverts, druggies and arrogant egoists on Earth

Decided to try old series Quantico that lasted a brief time.
First episode prominently featured the rookie agent kissing his male lover in several scenes.

As the meme here says “Bye.”

RE: ....thoughtful and engaging movies (of the successful past era)

Sounds like a radical and possibly dangerous idea to the woke bosses. The old Great American Way of Life portrayed by normal people? Never allowed today.

That was Disney. Does Paramount own Disney?

Paramount is not owned by Disney. Viacom/CBS bought it and renamed themselves to Paramount.

Post-George Floyd, Hollywood went on a DEI spending spree. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney+ -- every streaming service, cable and broadcast network, film studio -- was throwing money at shows with blacks, gays, and trannies.

They weren't even trying for quality. They simply opened the floodgates and money flowed into producing such crap.
