All gun control problems were solved back in 1968! the democrats said so!

“Today we begin to disarm the criminal and the careless and the insane. All of our people who are deeply concerned in this country about law and order should hail this day.”-— Lyndon Johnson signing the 1968 gun control act into law.

And Thomas J. Dodd, who wrote the 1968 gun control act using the 1938 Nazi weapons law as a pattern...

“No one can predict how many lives will be spared because of this bill, but, if the bloody record of our yesterdays is any measure, millions of future Americans will live to enjoy the promise of many peaceful tomorrows.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play a part in this great moment in our time.”— Thomas J. Dodd on passage of the 1968 Gun control act.

The educators in the NRA would say you are not looking at the full role and history of the organization.

William C. Church and Gen. George Wingate formed the National Rifle Association in 1871. The primary goal of the association would be to "promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis." Since then, the NRA has been the premier firearms education organization in the world.

LaPierre represents only recent history and, like so many other institutions, recent leaders have been questionable at best. That should not negate the core functions of the organization, which have been of great benefit to the nation for over a century. BSA would be a similar example. Great org corrupted by poor or corrupt leadership.

You can try to fix the problem or you can throw it all out and try to start new. Both are legit strategies. Both require effort.

I’m almost 70 years old, it’s been like this my whole life. We’ll see what happens.

Yeah, prior to 1968 I could order a .270 rifle out of the Sears & Roebuck catalog and have it shipped to my door.

“The White House claims that “safe storage of firearms” can reduce “school shootings, youth suicides, unintentional shootings, and theft of firearms.”

And get people killed because they couldn’t retrieve it fast enough when some recidivist thug breaks into their house.

the Department of Justice will release a guide for firearm storage, including an overview of storage devices.

How about a guide for an overflow of storage devices???

...reduce “school shootings, youth suicides, unintentional shootings, and theft of firearms.”

Could just eliminate the Dept of Education, defund all the schools and close them down. That'd stop school shootings in a big hurry.

No matter what the pro-trans activists say, people are 5 times more likely to commit suicide AFTER transitioning than before.

Typical Dem POS - using EOs that waste money and intend to infringe on our inalienable rights under the Construction. If we accept this pile of 💩, they’ll eventually have it so guns have to be stored in a manner where it takes 20 minutes to get to them - and then they’ll be the ones with the combo and you’ll have to dial them up to have them “allow you access” via a signal sent over the internet.
