While speaking at a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York City on Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused the United States of providing Ukraine with "old junk" weapons while building up its military complex.
In November, The Washington Post reported that of the $68 billion in military aid Congress approved for Ukraine, nearly 90 percent went back to the U.S. to build new weapons or replace ones sent to Ukraine from American stockpiles. The Post wrote that a Ukrainian official said "every single state in the U.S. contributes to this effort," thus creating more American jobs.
The Russian state news agency Sputnik said Lavrov cited the 90 percent figure to the UN Security Council, but he also claimed without offering evidence that the U.S. is updating its weapons with assistance funds for Kyiv while its "old ancient junk is being used in Ukraine."
The top Russian diplomat said the U.S. is treating the conflict in Ukraine "not as a war that has already claimed hundreds of thousands of lives...but as a profitable business project."

Our old junk is better than Ivan’s old junk any day.
Give white flags to whoever is left, along with a dozen 🥚 eggs.
Well, all our new shiny ones got left behind in Afghanistan.
What would that equal divided by the price of eggs in Moscow??
Putin told his troops to pack their parade uniforms. What happened?
What does the writer mean by “accuse”? Seems more like an observation.
US/NATO admit they send their oldest stuff. The vast majority of the $$$$ given to Ukeland actually goes to military contractors [Raytheon, Lockheed, etc] to build replacements for the stuff given today. Obviously. US/NATO didn’t build $300Billion in weapons over the past 18 months. They gave the stuff sitting in storage, some for decades.
Is it really an “accusation” when the parties admit it is true?
As for “Ivan’s old stuff”, you do realize the russkies have and successfully deployed hypersonic missiles, right? No Wester country has them or any defense to them. First deployed to blow up a mercenary staging area on the western edge of Ukeland some time ago, something like 200 ‘volunteers’ lost their lives. So much for “old stuff”.
US seriously underestimated russia, and seriously overestimated NATO capabilities, and really haven’t done anything to change that since the outbreak of the war. I do not want to see NATO mass graves, or Polish/Baltic cities in ruins, or god forbid anything here. Blustering emboldens the idiots who will mistake it for support of direct war against the russkies, which would be a huge mistake with unforeseeable hardships for our country. Don’t be duped by the russophobes. Most know little of what they are talking about.
Remember: Biden let in, then spread throughout the country, millions of able bodied foreign men. If .01% took up arms? We’d be in a world of hurt.
So even with old, outdated equipment, Ukraine is STILL able to hold off former-superpower Russia, going on 2 years now!
Impressive!!
Have I not read that several of Moscow's "unstoppable" missiles have been shot down by our obsolescent Patriots?
1/2 the Uke population fled. They’re not coming back, why would they?
Most of the remaining capable and young men are dead or disabled. Videos of men pulled out of cars, cafes, and their homes by Uke soldiers are common. The coke head tranny is floating drafting the ladies now.
8-1 and 10-1 casualty ratios are pretty well accepted now, even the war mongers have stopped denying it.
The battle zones - more and more within traditional Uke areas - are mine ladened moonscapes.
Yeah, impressive.
Does that include the Big Guy's cut?
So with 1/2 the population gone, forced to recruit from the streets, and having only outdated equipment, Ukraine is STILL able to hold off former-superpower Russia for 2 years now!
That’s even more impressive!!
lol
No, but I did see the Patriot shoot 32 missiles [at $3mil a pop] at one, all missed, and then the Patriot got blown up. Remember that one! It was pretty famous, got a lot of play, and the Ukes threw the kid who posted it into prison. Maybe he was Gonzalo’s cellie, since imprisoning American journalists by our ‘partners’ is cool now.
The warmongers are always denying those numbers, they keep claiming the victim nation being invaded is losing the most men and the invading hordes are suffering the fewer.
Best to look inward, canuck, your country is overrun with illegals and your government is debanking/slandering/imprisoning its dissenting citizens. Kinda like here. But we gots us a 2nd, which makes it far more difficult.
All publicly known tanks and most warships are obsolete.
If a tank or warship can’t take four direct hits and on average remain battleworthy it is obsolete.
Russia is getting nervous about their upcoming May 9th “victory” parade in Red Square.
CHINESE MILITARY JOURNAL ASSERTS RUSSIA LIED ABOUT ‘HYPERSONIC’ KINZHAL
“As a result of this lack of maneuverability, the Chinese analysis suggests reports of Kinzhal’s intercept are likely to be true.”
“The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced that the Ukrainian Air Force shot down a Kinzhal hypersonic missile using the Patriot PAC-3 air defense missile system on May 4, 2023,” the report reads. “There is more and more evidence showing that what the U.S. and Ukraine say on this matter is true.”
“Western analysts who pointed to Kinzhal being nothing more than an air-launched ballistic missile appeared to be proven right on May 4, 2023, when Ukraine’s recently activated MIM-104 Patriot Air Defense System reportedly intercepted one of these allegedly “invincible” missiles for the first time. Since then, there have been several other reported Kinzhal intercepts, with American intelligence agencies coming forward to confirm their validity, despite ongoing Russian efforts to dismiss these claims as nothing more than “Western propaganda.”
