A man has been charged with murdering his Google Engineer wife after he was found 'staring blankly' into space with her dead body nearby.
Police arrested Liren Chen, 27, who also works for Google, on January 16 at a home on Valley Way, Santa Clara.
He has been charged with murder but his arraignment was postponed after he was hospitalized.
Chen was found 'spattered with blood' with an 'extremely swollen and purple arm' kneeling outside a bedroom where his wife was 'deceased on the floor'.
His wife, thought to be Xuanyi Yu, had 'severe blunt force injuries to her head', according to Santa Clara District Attorney.
Santa Clara police officers went to the house around 11am on January 16, after receiving a welfare call.
When they arrived, a friend of Chen told officers he was 'concerned' about the couple and said Chen was 'refusing to answer his phone or his door'.
He told officers he could see Chen inside the home where he was 'motionless on his knees, had his hands in the air and was staring blankly'.
The officers went into the house and arrested Chen.
The district attorney's office said they found his wife's body in the bedroom 'directly behind' where Chen had been standing.
'Officers located the victim deceased on the floor. She had severe blunt force injuries to her head,' they said.
'Chen’s right hand was extremely swollen and purple. He had blood on his clothing, legs, arms, and hands and scratches on his arm.'
Chen and Yu bought a home at 714 Valley Way in April last year for $2.05 million, according to property records.
District Attorney Jeff Rosen said 911 calls for domestic violence have risen.

Chicoms.
The Googles, they are Evil.
A $2 million house in Santa Clara is a single wide mobile home.
According to the press, he was making around $800k per year.
The house looks a bit like the Brady Bunch home.
Didn’t Google just lay off a bunch of engineers? Maybe one or both were among them?
terrible terrible war on boys and men....
Things like this might become semi-common in Silicon Valley.
Most Americans have no idea the stress they put on employees.
I consider myself very lucky to get out of there alive.
The 2002 crash was bad enough but this one could be worse.
Folks, no matter what the other party does, it’s just not
worth it to go this route (if true).
Destroying your life just because someone treated you
dirty, only accomplishes exactly what they want for you.
Don’t give it to them.
They were probably living paycheque to paycheque and possibly being fired left them with nothing.
I don’t know why this sort of murder seems to be happening more and more frequently. All races, any country, any economic class. Not just violence, but extraordinary and bestial in it’s savagery. As though the killer is trying to destroy something else besides that person who used to be alive.
I read that the Hamas 10-7 murderers took a drug to enable them to act beastly. Maybe the same drug is available on Santa Clara streets.
We just had a tough one in Dover MA..the wealthiest town in the state…Indian man killed wife ,19 year old daughter ,, and himself .
Sad .

That’s probably correct.
For only $2 million that must have been a really tiny house. No wonder they got under each others’ skins.
Maybe that’s it. I have heard that the MJ of ‘back in My Day’
(1970’s) is much MUCH stronger now compared to back then.
That’s just one example, one possible substance to be abused.
