The good news from the University of New Hampshire poll of Granite State Republican Primary voters is that Ron DeSantis doesn’t have much further to fall ahead of the open contest Jan. 23.
The bad news is that he’s at 5%, behind Donald Trump (39%), Nikki Haley (32%), Chris Christie (12%) and Vivek Ramaswamy (8%). And given that only 40% of DeSantis’ supporters say they are “definitely decided,” the data suggests his hard support is around 2%.

You don’t want to bet me on over or under 5%, do you?
If desanctimonious doesn’t do well in Iowa, his current supporters in NH might not even bother to show up.
He legalized abortion in Florida.
Yeah, he is pretty blah and lifeless. Nobody sees a fighter in this guy. They just see a puppet for the Bush clan.
His rallies are like a funeral.
The rumpster will not do as well in Iowa but should finish first. DeSantis will hang around until he knows the rumpster will not be going to jail
“Who turned it into an avalanche?”
He did. Culminating in him sounding like Pelosi when talking about the 20 steal a couple of months ago.
This poll is CNN. Suffolk shows Trump +20 taken at the same time Trump 46 Haley 26 Phat Mann 10 Desantis 8 Rama 2. Consider the term, “This is CNN”. Thats all you need to know.
DeSantis’s only tactical mistake was to underestimate how wildly Marxist Democrats would campaign for President Trump.
It’s more than just his advisors. It’s the fact that he needs his advisors to think for him. That’s the fundamental flaw with him as far as being a leader. He’s simply not a leader. He’s a company man.
You can fake being a leader as a governor, under the right circumstances. But the truth is eventually going to come out at some point, when you come onto the national stage. That’s what gets lost when people put all the blame on his advisors. If he had better advisors maybe it wouldn’t have been so obvious that he’s not his own man, but ultimately his failures are due to his own inadequacies as a leader.
Suffolk poll taken at the same time 46-26 Trump. IT IS A CNN POLL
The same Marxist Democrats who are trying to keep him off the ballot? The same Marxist Democrats who are currently prosecuting him through multiple criminal indictments? Come on, man. You’re making this too easy. At least make a half-hearted attempt at a cogent argument.
Exactly. Lots of residents of NH are employees in Massachusetts trying to limit their taxes. Lots of RINOs who would probably live and work in Massachusetts if the taxes weren’t so high.
Some used to say that DeSantis is Trump but with the experience to choose better subordinates. It looks like that ain’t so true.
The voters turned it into an avalanche. That’s ultimately what this is all about after all, isn’t it? He’s hemorrhaging support. He can be as relaxed as he wants. He’s still going to lose. Whether he’s relaxed or not is irrelevant - except maybe with regards to how he’s going to personally handle loss. For his sake, I’m happy that he’s relaxed because then maybe his loss won’t weigh too heavily on him.
Yes he very possibly is the most conservative candidate barring none even Trump.
What I find ironic is that if Trump is denied being the candidate by the courts (wrongly but it could happen) Haley might by default get it. Ironic that the Desantis hating republicans may help her to win by joining leftists in destroying Desantis.
As unlikely as that sounds if it happens…and Haley becomes our POTUS… I will abandon the Republican Party forever and become a G.D. I.
...ultimately his failures are due to his own inadequacies as a leader.
Given his military record that surprises me but you may be right. He’s been a bit of a dud the entire campaign.
That is grossly taken out of context. Abortion was legal in Florida after Roe v. Wade. DeSantis initially signed a law making abortions after 15 weeks illegal. Pending a ruling from the Supreme Court about the 15 week law, he later signed a law making abortion after six weeks illegal, with provisions for rape, incest, woman's life, etc..
Trump, not being a social conservative himself, didn't agree with this cutback in abortion law. He said, “I think what he did is a terrible thing and a terrible mistake.”
Well, many of us WARNED him, didn’t we?
Like I said “He coulda been a contenda”
Hat tip to a FReeper who corrected me.
Ability to recognize the enemy seems to be a flaw in the GOP since Bush41.
So he signed a bill making abortion legal. What’s the confusion? I didn’tbring up Trump, I was responding to the claim that DeSantis is the only social conservative. If signing an abortion bill is socially conservative, then I suppose he’s a social conservative.
