House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., has withdrawn her endorsement of Ohio GOP House candidate Craig Riedel in the wake of leaked audio of him speaking poorly of former President Donald Trump.
"I think he is arrogant. I don’t like the way he calls people names. I just don’t think that’s very becoming of a president," he said, in the audio, which leaked in December, Politico reported. He also reportedly said he would not endorse Trump, but did so immediately following the leak.
"Earlier this week, I informed Craig Riedel (OH-09) that I will be withdrawing my endorsement. I was very disappointed in his inappropriate comments regarding President Trump. As we begin 2024, my focus is on ensuring we nominate the strongest candidates on the ballot who are committed to electing President Trump this November and expanding our House GOP Majority," Stefanik posted on X.
Ohio's 9th Congressional District includes Toledo and is currently represented by Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur.

Trump ran as a republican but campaigned like a democrat, which includes the name calling. You have to hit the democrats just as hard as they hit you if you want to get elected, and President Trump is very good at going for the jugular.
The lame republican method of campaigning like a gentleman is a losing strategy and always has been.
Riedel is a dummy, good for Elise.
Trump only goes after those who hit him 1st.
I think he said something like he hits them back 10 times harder.
We need a fighter; Trump is our fighter!
BTTT
Elise is pretty awesome. Would make a great VP pick.
I want her for Trump’s Veep
Wack-A-Doodle.
Who is being canceled?
In primary season candidates who don’t win are naturally canceled. For the coming election that is.
Stefanik isn’t obligated to endorse someone she was unaware had insulted her Presidential pick.
I think you might be on to something!
The “context” is actually quite simple they just don’t want to come out and say it. It is all part of the DEI Oppressor/Oppressed ideology that’s the rage of these fauxcademics.
Under their doctrine, they falsely believe “the Jews” “stole” Israel from the “indigenous, oppressed” Palestinians. So in their mind, it is OK to commit “Genocide” against the Jews of Israel for “restorative justice”. That doesn’t necessarily mean murder the Jews, it could just be as simple as them believing that the Jews of Israel should be forced to leave and give the land “back” to the Arabs. Forcible expulsion of people from their land is a form of genocide.
So in this context, supporting the genocide of the Jews would be acceptable to them. It’s complete nonsense, based on fabricated beliefs and outright falsehoods. But they believe it, so they think its OK.
You need to clean up your act.
They tolerated Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. 35 House Republicans defied their fellow Republicans and voted for the January 6th Committee in May 2021. Some of them like Kinzinger lost his district to run for re-election, but Democrats did that to him. Liz Cheney lost her primary, and got canned, but she's still spewing crap, and I don't hear any House Republicans denigrating her for it. Others like John Katko of New York and Trey Hollingsworth of Indiana, saw the writing on the wall and chose not to run for re-election. But in the case of those 35 Republicans, I don't recall the Republicans that voted against the Committee doing anything about their comrades disloyal behavior.
The 35 House Republicans who defied Trump and voted for the January 6 commission
I can’t really disagree with you all that much.
A gutless wonder who doesn't understand that many of the people who voted for Trump in 2016, did so, because he tells it like it is. I certainly voted for him for that reason in 2016, 2020, and will vote for him again this November, because he doesn't mince words. Nobody wants a coward who sits in the corner like a scolded puppy when they are attacked by the media and Democrats, and aren't willing to fight back. We had enough candidates like that: Bush 1, Bush 2, Dole, McCain, Romney. If they aren't willing to fight for themselves, they sure as hell won't fight for you or me.
Trump was the first GOP Presidential candidate that I didn't have to hold my nose to vote for, and I will never compromise my values ever again, and hold my nose to vote for a POS candidate just to keep a seat Republican. I'm done with that crap.
Elise is FANTASTICLY AWESOME...isn’t she?
Hear! Hear!
Exactly how I feel.
She ought to give him a good swift kick in the crotch while she’s at it.
Dude's not wrong.
“I just don’t think that’s very becoming of a president,”
Another idiot who thinks it’s more important for a POTUS to be “becoming” than to save our country. Shallow, superficial candidates need to get their priorities straight.
Are you referring to Stefanik or the Reidel guy?
