Sean Ono Lennon, the son of iconic singer John Lennon, has become quite the contrarian lately, from his knock against the media’s bias amid the coronavirus to his recent knock against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
In an X post on Wednesday, Sean Ono Lennon rebranded DEI with a not-so-wholesome name.
“Have you guys heard of DEI? It stands for ‘Dumb Evil Idiots,” he said.

Yep, he’s smart and has a definite conservative edge, which lines up with the possibility that his dad was more conservative than his image.
The fact that Donald Trump’s sons are conservative suggests that he was more conservative at home than in public back in the day. Wouldn’t surprise me if John Lennon had more of a public/private split in his views than was generally known. Not to say he was a full blown conservative by any stretch, just more conservative than people know, maybe.
I wonder how much Sean has said about his father’s views?
Sean is his own man. Something Libs can not stand! There IS Hope for the future. Times they are a changin’
But Lennon’s most famous song is ‘Imagine’ is pure communism.
Well that song sure made a lot of money for John and Yoko.
Yes, it did, and it is still in the rotation of oldies radio stations. Even so, it is pure communism and anyone who could write such lyrics was not a conservative in any way.
Really. The nastiest libs I know are in their 70s and 80s.
Well be fair, John was still hooked on smack then.
Yes, but also, “ But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Moa, you ain’t gonna make it with anyone anyhow.” Greatest Conservative song ever.
White AND Asian - he’s doubly entitled
If nothing else, he could be the poster child for rugged individualism.
Small tribes of people are communistic, and there's often nothing wrong with how they organize their lives. They can deal with the slackers and egomaniacs individually, correcting the overall social cohesion as required. But on a large scale, the schemers, thieves, and con artists take over, making large-scale communism what rational adults know it is: a feel-good con that benefits no-one but the con-artists.
Nope. John preferred to designate his money-grubbing: first Epstein, then Klein, then Yoko, to make his bank but bank he preferred to make.
There is a remarkable stretch on the spoken-word part Anthology where Lennon goes on and on Revolver-era, about how 'making money is alright, it's the spending part that goes wrong'.
As I have repeatedly demonstrated on FR, "Imagine" is bullshit. John needed a hit. Period. Paragraph.
"Heroin > Insomnia > Midnight white piano > Maudlin chord progression > money-grubbing geisha Ono's dystopian poetry > Phil "Murder in the 2nd Degree" Spector not just producing (with rare restraint) but blowing the origin song out of proportion by convincing John to make it an anthem, to throw red meat to the burgeoning hippy/addict Manhattanite atheist schnorrer culture surrounding/smothering Lennon > John needing a hit in every imaginable way."
I never fell for it. Conservative thinking all my life .
Liberalism made zero sense to me.
If nothing else, he could be the poster child for rugged individualism."
Sean is a bit chiller than Julian, who is a bit more talented. Their road trip 'reunion' as bonded-brothers-better-than-ever these last two years is extraordinarily satisfying.
