Scientists Discover Genetic Underpinnings of Bisexuality

The study, published Wednesday in Science Advances, was based on data from more than 450,000 people of European descent who signed up for the UK Biobank, a long-term genomics project that has proven a major boon for health research.

It builds on growing research including a seminal 2019 paper in Science that found genetic variants influenced to some extent whether a person engaged in same-sex behavior, though environmental factors were more important.

"We realized that in the past, people lumped together all homosexual behavior...but actually there's a spectrum," Zhang said, explaining part of the motivation for the new work. By studying participants' complete sets of DNA, or genomes, and combining that information with survey responses, Zhang and his co-author Siliang Song were able to confirm the signatures associated with same-sex behavior and bisexual behavior were in fact distinct.

I disagree. If there is a genetic “cause” for Bisexuality, then that denotes a defect, and also, these days, the possibility of a “cure”.

Same for homosexuality.

This is something that always got advocates for homosexuality extremely upset while discussing possible underlying reasons for that behavior, particularly when I would point out the possibility of curing said behavior.

Don’t you love that word, “scientists”?

It is like the words, “experts,” “doctors,” etc. I have lost all respect for them.

The journal Science published a fraud of a study in the 1990’s that convinced the public there was a gay gene. Sounds like some academics are still trying to make fantasy reality.

I don’t believe the study mentioned actually found a genetic correlation. Fake reporting

Spectrum?
Like the mental spectrum?
Like birth defects spectrums?

None of them are normal behaviors or physical attributes that are normal.

So...there is that.

Backwards science. They love to say “born that way” even with obvious social media contagion spreading sexual dysfunction with light speed.

Genetics also strongly affect intelligence. Environment also can factor in but not as much.

Lower intelligence is often linked to criminal activity and violence...

Yet we’re all still required to obey laws and not resort to violence.

There are no self sustaining homosexual societies. Not a shocker why.
