Donald Trump 'fears Supreme Court could BACK Colorado's decision to take him off the ballot and that three conservative justices he appointed won't want to be seen as political'

Donald Trump has expressed concern that the Supreme Court could back attempts by Colorado and Maine to block him from the Republican primary ballot, according to reports.

Both states have moved to exclude Trump over his role in the January 6, 2021, attack by his supporters on the Capitol.

The states have accepted legal challenges to Trump's nomination that cite Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which says office holders cannot 'have engaged in insurrection or rebellion'.

Trump has privately expressed concerns that the Supreme Court, to which he appointed three conservative justices while president, may side with Colorado and Maine so as not to appear 'political', The New York Times reported.

Despite the conservative supermajority on the bench the former president is worried the court will rule against him, a source told the Times.

No good people for $2000

It’s really a $100 clue because it is so obvious

Am I the only one who thinks this is a tempest in a teapot? The states taking Trump off their primary ballots are blue states like Colorado he has no chance of winning anyway. It’s more of a problem if swing states start jumping on this bandwagon, but I haven’t seen any evidence that shows they’re going to do so.

Can you cite any case where the Court was concerned with state’s rights, or acknowledged any such concept?

Dobbs didn't impose a national abortion ban; it just kicked the issue back to the states. That's states' rights.

Wait until Red states start removing Joe Pedo and Camela from their ballots. Two can play this Lawfare game.

I don't think they'd care. Even Sleepy Joe must know he hasn't got a chance of winning in the red states. It's really just a few swing states whose elections matter.

To say nothing of a spray tan and comb over.

A spray tan and comb over are fashion choices. Nobody cares. Pretending to be taller by using lifts hidden in your boots and then lying about it reflect poorly on a man's character in most people's minds. But you don't have to believe me about this just look at DeSantis’s numbers before and after “bootgate”.

“Bootgate” occurred at the end of October. It made the most promising challenger to President Trump look like a clown. He was far ahead of Haley; she has now come from behind to become the leading challenger. Why? Because he now looks like a joke to most Republicans... but more importantly a large percentage of his former Bush league financial supporters are now swinging their support to Haley and others.

I suspect the SCOTUS is twisting itself in knots over this, trying to leave it stand as a state’s rights issue.

I think Roberts desperately wants Trump gone and is trying HARD to build a SCOTUS consensus to make it a states right issue rather than a US Constitutional issue. That way he can get rid of Trump and still think he will come out smelling like roses in the history books.

Getting rid of Row v Wade was probably the biggest states rights issue in decades.

>> And Kavanaugh and ACB were just horrible picks. <<

Of course, if you questioned how "good" they were at the time, you'd be swiftly accused of having "Trump derangement syndrome"

“Getting rid of Row v Wade was probably the biggest states rights issue in decades.”

I keep getting that. The states’ rights argument was not used before the Supreme Court. The attorney for Mississippi was arguing that there was no Constutional right to abortion.

“Dobbs didn’t impose a national abortion ban; it just kicked the issue back to the states. That’s states’ rights.”

But that was never the endgame; the constitutionality of abortion was in play.

It is very sad, Desantis torpedoed himself and not just by wearing hidden "lifts" in his boots. His associations are even more damaging. Whether or not you want to admit it to yourself or not, President Trump's popularity continues to soar despite massive pushback from the media but especially Bush League Republicans.

DeSantis has faded so badly that only 35% of people living in Florida now have a positive opinion of him. Nikki Haley who had a fifth of his support just a couple of months ago is now the leading contender of those challenging President Trump. Rumors persist that DeSantis's campaign is on the ropes. He has bet the farm on Iowa, if he underperforms which look more and more likely, even Jeb's greatest fans will be looking to someone else.

You took a lot of time to say nothing in line with what I said. Look, a graphic even. You must imagine yourself to be quite important.

You took a lot of time to say nothing in line with what I said.

You didn't actually say anything of substance... just a continuation of your one liners sniping at President Trump. That is basically all that you do... there is not substance in any of your posts. So, I didn't have a lot to work with.

And no, nothing either of us has said or is going to say is going to change anything. DeSantis was a rising star until he was enticed by donors appealing to his personal foibles to throw his political future in the crapper. Then he flushed it with laughable hidden lifts in his boots. It is no wonder that Nikki Haley, who is as clownish as the rest of the field of wannabees is now outperforming him.

DeSantis spent $25.5 million on television ads in Iowa, and who knows how much on doorbelling, caucus organizing and other campaign activities. They started out with what most thought was nearly unlimited funding from donors, but now it all appears to be crumbling. The TV ads were the first to go. It will be interesting to see the results.

The Fabricated ‘Reality’ Americans Exist Within
PatriotandLiberty ^ | 12/23 | Linda Kimball

In his commentary, “Crazy Stuff—Fabricated Details of Western Oil Sanctions Against Russia,” Sundance over on the The Last Refuge casts light onto the fabricated reality we are living in. The West and America are now as the Soviet Union had been—existing in a fabricated reality behind an iron curtain:

“ I’m very serious when I share with people that almost everything we understand about the geopolitical purposes and impacts of sanctions against Russian economic interests is entirely fabricated. However, because the scale of the propaganda against us is so effective, breaking the mental/cognitive barrier is almost impossible.” Sundance

The iron curtain symbolizes the capture of minds by dark powers who control and inform the mind of Big Brother, thus, the fabricated reality consists of circles within circles. At the heart of the circle is Big Brother, the spinner and weaver of the fabricated reality.

Michigan was one of the first places these demonically-driven Soros-fueled golems filed to remove President Trump from the ballot.

I hasten to remind you President Trump won Michigan's 16 electoral votes in 2016 and 2020.

Additionally, Trump won 1 of Maine's 4 Electoral Votes in 2020.

You're welcome.

I think it's the opposite - the court refused to take any cases last time since it "wasn't our role"

When the Supreme Court gave the Democrats a pass on ignoring their ruling in 2020, it wasn’t states rights they were promoting.
