Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who has been vaccinated multiple times, just came down with COVID and he still sings the praises of the jab, claiming that he’s glad to be “up to date with the vaccine.”
The socialist senator is now 82 years old. His symptoms are reportedly mild and he will work from home while he’s in isolation per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“I have tested positive for Covid,” Sanders wrote on X Thursday. “My symptoms are minimal and I will continue to work from home in Vermont while isolating in accordance with CDC guidance. I am glad to be fully up to date with the vaccine.”

Without the antibodies induced by the vaccine, they would have been far more sick and more likely to suffer serious consequences and perhaps even death.
A vaccine is not a shield. It doesn’t stop viruses from entering your body. It doesn’t even stay around for more than a few days after injection.
What a vaccine does is train the immune system on how to make antibodies (and T and B cells) to specifically counteract the pathogen the vaccine targets. How many antibody molecules the immune system produces after vaccination absolutely depends on how well the immune system works. The immune system decreases in function starting around age 65; by age 80, immune system function has decreased significantly. And how well a person is protected from catching disease depends on how many antibodies there are in their blood and on the mucous membranes lining the respiratory tract. Think of antibodies as a kind of sponge. Just like a sponge can only soak up a certain amount of water, antibodies can only soak up a certain amount of virus. If the vaccinated person is exposed to too many virus particles, their antibodies cannot soak them all up and they will get sick.
There is plenty of scientific proof of how the immune system functions. And plenty of proof that the vaccine decreases chance of getting sick, severity of illness, and chance of death.

The table at the bottom of the page shows the effectiveness of vaccination in different populations and for different outcomes. These determinations are made scientifically by comparing the outcomes between a vaccinated and a similar unvaccinated population. In other words, they are not based on assumptions, but on hard data.
I have a customer who is vaxed and boosted. He now regrets getting either. He has had covid 4X. The most recent time was just 2 weeks ago.
So should all the people who haven’t been vaccinated nor had covid go out and get boosted?
