The newly elected Democrat mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, celebrated the removal of a Confederate statue in the city, which was officially gone before noon Wednesday.
Democrat Mayor Donna Deegan, who won her mayoral bid in May, celebrated the removal of the statue in Springfield Park, formally known as Confederate Park. The monument in question, “In Memory of Our Women of the Southland,” depicts a mother with her two children at her side, looking down at a book upon her lap. It was erected in October 1915.
The Democrat mayor, who said during her time on the campaign trail that she would remove Confederate monuments, contended that she is not trying to “erase history” with the statue’s removal.
“Symbols matter,” Deegan said in a statement.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Women are temperamentally unfit for leadership in government. They think and act like mommies. The most important thing to them is the absence of any disagreement. The female mentality is the one where both kids in the schoolyard fight get expelled, making not the slightest effort to distinguish the bully from the defender.

I would like to see a list of those who’s lives have been made better by removing these statues.
When all mention of Civil War is gone, when the word ‘slavery’ disappears from the language, we will ALL be slaves................
What’s sad is that they don’t just remove them, they destroy them so that they cannot be retrieved by a more sane and thoughtful generation.
There’s a secondary reason removing these statues is a bad idea. In many places, they’ve become landmarks. Now when giving directions one will have to reference the place the statue used to be.
Removing statues to a war is effectively removing history. So my question is what Civil War, if there was a Civil War there would be statues. So since there’s no statues for the Civil War there was no Civil War.

She craps on Southern history because she has no connection to it. The people she reviles are the descendants of the people who actually settled the South and made it possible for her to run for “Mayor” of a city on a continent that had no such notion in existence before the Evil Southern Crackers showed up.
Her entire status in life is based on the government concepts they instituted. So by what right does she obliterate their past, and claim to have rights to lord over them? By pretending to be one of them by the use of cosmetics?
