A total of 77 sailors were on board the large landing ship in the eastern Crimean port of Feodosia when it was targeted by cruise missiles, Russian-language Telegram channel Astra reported. Of these, 33 are missing and 23 people were wounded, with one person killed in the strikes, Astra reported on early on Wednesday...
Using Western-supplied cruise missiles and different types of drones, Kyiv has repeatedly targeted Moscow's naval assets, managing to sink the flagship Moskva in April 2022 and taking out a Russian submarine in September 2023.
During the course of the all-out war in the country, Kyiv has damaged a number of Moscow's landing ships, such as the Minsk, the Saratov and the Olenegorsky Gornyak.
Kyiv's success in denting the Black Sea fleet is an embarrassment and an operational blow to Russia. In the wake of the attack, Britain's defense minister, Grant Shapps, said the Kremlin has lost 20 percent of its Black Sea fleet in the past four months, adding: "Russia's dominance in the Black Sea is now challenged."
Ukraine used cruise missiles to attack the landing ship at around 2:30 a.m. local time (7:30 p.m. ET) on Tuesday, Kyiv's air force said in a statement. Ukrainian officials suggested Western-supplied air-launched Storm Shadow and SCALP missiles were used in Tuesday's attack.

That’s because you’re either THAT dense or you’re back to trying to waste people’s time again. Most likely both. Waste someone else’s.
Wasting time would be your posts and you’re trying to blow off the thread topic by pretending that nothing unusual is happening to Russia’s Navy that isn’t the same for the American Navy.
I am sure the russian sailors are all on a nice vacation at a beach resort in Crimea.
I’m sorry for your losses comrade. What stage of grief are you in?
Judging from the size of that blast I’m guessing there isn’t anything left of them. I heard that the roster on that ship included 180-some men. I suspect they are understating the death toll.
Russia’s war is really not going well for them.
Wait till an American ship is hit, and we have bodies coming home. The foes only need to get lucky once. Will Biden look at his watch when the flag draped coffins roll off the big plane? My heart goes out to the parents, mothers, wives of the dead sailors—as it does to the Ukrainians soldiers holding the line. Peace is the best answer.

The TRUTH is that the ship was carrying loads of drones,
I don’t doubt the the ship was carrying explosive materials, but I question why the drones would be equipped with the bombs for transport. I would think those would be installed just prior to the drones being sent to their target.
In a wide-ranging interview, Gen Sir Richard Barrons argued that Ukraine’s military “has got nothing left in the locker right now” after its gruelling summer counter-offensive.
“The initiative in this war is unequivocally transferring to Russia and that is not the situation we expected at the start of this year but it’s an honest appraisal of where we are,” said Gen Barrons.
“That's a combination of the failure of the Ukrainian counter-offensive to deliver even its minimum objectives,” said Gen Barrons. “Then the major wobble in US politics and now EU politics on financial support to Ukraine. The reason he's much more confident is because he's not losing this war.”
“Putin will be rubbing his hands with glee at the distraction of Gaza particularly with artillery ammunition that was going to go to Ukraine now being fired at Palestinians,” said the veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
It’s going to be pleasure watching you squirm while the Russians take more and more land in Ukraine.
Putin will find some way to screw it up, I have faith, just look at this whole invasion ... supposed to be over in a month, lol
Some leaders have luck in war, some don’t ... Putin is in the second category
US ships are at risk, but I suspect the preferred target will be a UK ship.
UK Storm Shadows (which Russia believes operated by UK crews) were responsible for both the Moskva and this latest amphibious assault ship.
So a Houthi attack on a UK ship would be payback via proxies, with less escalation risk that going after, say, a US carrier.
Naval warfare has ended. Satellites, hypersonic weapons, and drones have rendered surface fleets obsolete as surely as Billy Mitchell's bombers did to the battleship a century ago. But the Navy brass and the defense contractors won't hear it, so more money will need to be wasted before a final set of tragedies prove the point conclusively.
LOL. The Russian military spends thousands of lives and hundreds of armored vehicles to capture a destroyed village and move the front line by 1/2 mile.
That's not "gobbling" that's more like nibbling at a very high cost.
Ukraine and the Biden regime make up numbers and you believe and repeat them.
You're brainless.
Get this through your skull -- EVERY inch of annexed territory will remain part of the Russian Federation. And, there isn't a thing you or anyone else can do about it.
Further, if Ukraine doesn't surrender, the Russians will keep going all the way to the Dnieper river.
Sure, but you have to admit it would be fun to watch.
