When Mitt Romney announced his intended retirement from the U.S. Senate on Sept. 13, 2023, the Atlantic published an excerpt from his upcoming biography, in which the 2012 Republican presidential nominee told author McKay Coppins, “A very large portion of my party really doesn’t believe in the Constitution.”
This claim would have been startling 15 years ago. For decades, the Republican Party has been the party of conservatism and a champion for the Constitution.
Romney is clear that Donald Trump, who leads what he calls a “populist” and “demagogic” portion of the party, is to blame. And Romney is not the only concerned Republican.

Reagan didn’t have to deal with the same America Trump did. Then we were the worlds biggest creditor nation not the worlds biggest debtor. We manufactured. Our military was respectable and strong and macho. Homosexuality was banned from marriage and the military and clearances. We didn’t have open satanic crap and open communists in the government and women running everything. Schools didn’t teach 5 year olds to suck each other and chop off penises. And then send the FBI after parents who objected.

Well Ronnie WAS terrible on the border and as gov of Cali he was bad on the 2nd Amendment. So Trump is different on the border than Ronnie and somewhat better on the 2nd (not quite perfect to be honest). Ronnie did get us into wars in the Middle East and invaded Grenada. Trump, well, he did authorize targeted killings. And his position on the vaccine was not great. I like Trump way better than the alternatives now available, I’ll say that much. As for DemonRats worrying about Conservatism, meh. They can go away.

Looks like she graduated college in 2007. So there’s a small possibility her mother was actually impregnated during Reagan’s era. She was making mud pies during Bill Clinton. But yes, please tell us all about Reagan.
It is not the same Constitution America started with. The Income Tax Amendment turned the rest of the Constitution into toilet paper. How can you have a free people when their Government can arbitrarily take anything they want from its people?
That amendment fed the Federal beast into a monsterous Fedzilla. That and other changes over the years has trimmed back our 'Land of the free and home of the brave' into a 'Land of the free stuff and home of the free range slave'.

That was a White House stand and shake-hands greet, Trump never voted for him and supported Carter in 1980.
We love the Gipper but he gave us H. Maybe he had no choice but at least history recorded that George and Babs weren’t Ron and Nancy’s personal cup of tea.
