An International Committee of the Red Cross representative refused to bring a box of life-saving medicine to Israelis taken hostage in Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed in a Monday address to the Knesset plenum.
"I met with the Red Cross; I handed them a box of medicine for some of the hostages shown here. Some of them really need it...I told a representative to take this box to Rafah; she said no. It was a difficult conversation," he told a special Knesset session attended by families of hostages, who were heard shouting "Now!" at the prime minister as he explained the return of all hostages would take time.
"We are sparing no effort, both seen and hidden, to bring all of the hostages home," Netanyahu said.

Interesting in that another recent article: Red Cross chief: Israel must work out with Hamas our lack of access to hostages

So who ya gonna believe?
“I wonder what they did to piss off so many sailors.I wonder what they did to piss off so many sailors.”
Not sure about the Navy, but a co-worker of mine in the ‘70s had been in the Army during Vietnam. (Not sure exactly where he was serving.)
His mother died back in the States. The Army got him in touch with the Red Cross PTB so he could make a call to his family, which was supposed to be one of their services.
OK fine. He could call home, but the RC told him he had to fork over the money for the phone call, and the logistics to make it happen. He couldn’t; he didn’t have it.
I guess it’s not drastic, but when you’re a kid overseas, not your choice, and your mother dies, it’s big.
The Army finally helped him out, and they were OK with it. But they had assumed RC would, so hooking him up with them was the first action.
Anyhow, he despised the Red Cross.
My father in law came off the line in North Africa. There were Red Cross tables set up for coffee. They were charging for it. Being on the front line since getting off the landing craft, they had no cash.
He always hated them for that.
Myth that was unfounded
Shameful. Yet the scam survive to this day.
So…the story he told me over and over is not true. His brothers in Europe and the Pacific told pretty much the same story.
Why would they lie about that?
Smart man. Read their history, it’s ugly. They have great PR, but are as radical as they come.
Thank you for being truthful. Cowardice is hard to admit.
Out of all the terrible stuff I have read about the redcross, they never get purposely attacked. I’m not so sure I would want them anywhere near me or my family or team however, they have been/are stool pigeons and everything they see they report. Behind enemy lines that could be very dangerous to people wearing white hats.
A veitnam sailor I knew said rc charged. Sa gave freely.
Probably AER, Army Emergency Relief. When I was in, I never heard anyone complain about AER.
RED CROSS IS ASSISTING INVADERS COMING THRU MEXICO TO US BORDER-——8,000 AND MORE
MAPS-—FOOD-—CLOTHING—SHOES, etc.
My mother said they were corrupt and that she had seen irrefutable evidence.

Your mother was correct. I have read reports on their international corrupt activities. They obtain special courtesies for moving containers with their logo, facilitating smuggling.
I never knew all this about the Red Cross. Now I do.
How impartial and even-handed. Need I say sarc.
Because the story became orthodox truth spread across the military even though it was untrue
The Red Cross did not sell doughnuts
Oh...where did I say they were selling donuts?
Its not important, but you are jumping up and down calling folks liars...and you cannot even read clearly.
You might want to give that some thought.
I called no one a liar....... they by the thousands repeated an untruth they believed
The orthodox myth involves doughnuts being sold in England
That is a pedantic answer. Something I would expect on Reddit...but this place has devolved into a similar environment.
