Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror groups operating in Gaza have rejected an Egyptian-led truce proposal with Israel that would see the militants relinquish power in return for an end to the war, sources say.
The terrorists, who conducted the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel, have refused to take part in one of the biggest conditions laid out by negotiators in Cairo on Sunday: an end to Hamas’ reign in Gaza by forming a Palestinian parliament and holding free elections, according to two Egyptian security sources.
The terrorist organizations instead reiterated that the only thing they’re ready to discuss is a prisoner swap that would see more than 100 Israeli hostages released in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners being held in Israel’s jails.
But a Hamas official who was in Cairo during the negotiations added that even a prisoner swap would only take place once Israel has withdrawn from war-torn Gaza.
“Hamas seeks to end the Israeli aggression against our people, the massacres and genocide, and we discussed with our Egyptian brothers the ways to do that,” the official told Reuters.
“We also said that the aid for our people must keep going and must increase, and it must reach all the population in the north and the south,” the Hamas official added. “After the aggression is stopped and the aid increased, we are ready to discuss prisoner swaps.”
While the peace talks have been previously discussed exchanging one hostage for every three Palestinian women and minors freed, leaders for Islamic Jihad are now demanding a different approach.

The only good Islamic HAMAS is a dead one. And it increasingly appears that that will be the only way to break their grip on Gaza. But not sure what they means with Gazans openly supporting and cheering Islamic HAMAS, with their US supporters and others elsewhere in the world supporting Islamic HAMAS. Will Islamic HAMAS supporters accept surrender or dead, renounce their ways, and seek out lives in peace or will they simply ferment a new generation of murderous terrorists keen on violence, rape, and hostage taking? Like a rabid animal is their any recourse beyond putting them down?
Name a security org or nation that withdraws from terrorists holding hundreds of civilian hostages, including small children….
Gazans, now free to speak, might do as Winkies did when the wicked witch was dead, and celebrate. The Green Prince has predicted that they would. Either that, or they may decide to start their own terror organization from the ground up. But after seeing what happened to Hamas, they might not.
As for the “supporters” in Harvard and Yale, Queers for Hamas, and Feminists Who Long to Wear Burkas, they’ll find another game to play when this one is no longer fun.
The only reason a woman should wear a burka is if she is butt-ugly. And then, she should not stop wearing one once she realizes the Islamic practices are not in her best interest as she’ll still be butt-ugly.
Only if every building in Gaza gets bombed and every Hamas terrorist get killed in combat. Then maybe.
Israel would have refused that “Cease fire” anyway..we want every single member of Hamas DEAD and we wont stop til they are ALL dead, every single last one of them..gee so no free elections, no wonder Biden and the commie left love Hamas so much they both think alike

Every building bombed was tried in Hamburg during WW II. The surviving young men enlisted to get back at England. Every Hamas terrorist killed? If they surrender, they’d be more valuable perp walked in their birthday suits in front of everyone. Humiliation is something that Arabs fear worse than death.

Kind of a bad precondition for ceasefire talks since Hamas would already have everything they want. It doesn’t seem like they are serious which leads me to believe that the cries of “genocide” are greatly overblown.

Noncombatants in Gaza are useless to Hamas if they are no longer effective as human shields. Hamas is only trying to save its own worthless protoplasm.
Praying that the IDF totally eliminated the Gaza terrorist nest and then cleans out the northerly threat too. The constant caution trying to minimize “civilian” casualties sounds very noble but it slows any possible hostages release and it causes many more deaths in IDF soldiers—- no other army does this. It means there can never be a “peace” with the current residents of Gaza. They must all be expelled or killed.
