FIRE and the ACLU of Vermont are now representing the man in a free speech lawsuit.
Newly released video footage shows a Vermont state trooper arresting a man on disorderly conduct charges for the First Amendment–protected activity of flipping him off.

He was Kidnapped at Gunpoint and held for ransom by a gang banger in a Magic Blue Costume, he was NOT arrested.
You should thank him.
This guy has been flipping this cop off and pissing this cop off since 2018. The cop is sill wrong. Way, way wrong.
Not even close.
It’s disorderly conduct.
Uniformed officers are not an object of spittle behavior simply for being a uniformed officer. There is a complaint process for citizens when there is Cause against an officer.
Giuliani used the Broken Window form of justice and transformed NYC.
Good for Vermont in this case.
That is interesting.
If someone flips me off I am adult enough not to care. My little feefee are not hurt. Because I am an adult not a roided up bully with all that brings with it.
If you have to force people to respect you, you are not worthy of respect. And if you think abuse is ok as long as the abuser wears a magic blue uniform there is something very wrong with you.
While you are on the ground licking dirt because roided up dude wants to make up for the fact he can't get it up remember, He is your creation. You want that.
After watching this particular video—and making no other claims about any other situation—both the police officer and the driver of the car were total jerks.
Being a total jerk is probably not illegal for either party.
I don’t worry about the rudeness of children. I worry about the agents of the state who don’t respect the civil liberties of the citizens, even the little shts.
Did you all get along back then?

Those “rude” children don’t respect you or anything you stand for.
Do some thinking.
“Did you all get along back then?”
Actually, for the most part, we did.
Comparing SE street thugs to cops?
Fair, I guess.
“Actually, for the most part, we did.”
That’s pretty much what I was expecting to hear. What a different world today. The Dems have successfully pitted every tribe against every other tribe. It’s very bad.
People may be jerks. Freedom to be a jerk is written in the first amendment. As long as they do not touch you it is a case of toughen up buttercup.
On the other hand abuse of power which is what the police officer did is not equivalent.
He knew he was abusing his power and did it anyway because his little snowflake feefee were just so hurt.
Not acceptable. The proper remedy would be to have police office fired and never ever placed in a position where they have authority again. He does not have the temperament for it.
I have begun to advocate for insensitivity training for civil servants, they must chant at least three times a day, "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words (and hand gestures) will never hurt me".
Because what the police can do to you pales beside what can happen if you get cross ways of a CPS nitwit.
Calm down
