FIRE and the ACLU of Vermont are now representing the man in a free speech lawsuit.
Newly released video footage shows a Vermont state trooper arresting a man on disorderly conduct charges for the First Amendment–protected activity of flipping him off.

head for south east DC and exercise your free speech calling everyone the N word. tell them youre protected and they cant do sht to you.
if you want to argue, then "F" you jonny.
we can all be anti social and digress into anarchy. or start acting like we're adults and treat people with respect.
I prefer to be respectful.
but, Im just speaking your language. so you can understand me.
This cop has an ego. His job is to enforce the law, not go around telling people how to or not to behave.
So you think that the police should maim you if you hurt the blue snowflakes little feefee?
How delightful.
Local justice served well

You have a skewed perspective.
I don't think it is my perspective that is skewed.
What do you think should be done to people who wear white after labor day? A little wood shampoo maybe?
I expected such a reply from you.
No one in this kids life ever taught him to respect anything.
You will encounter this kid someday, he will flip you the bird, scratch your car with a key and piss on your leg.
He is your creation.
Screw loose... Nyet. Don’t look at the act by itself, look at it as part of a trend. This is becoming more and more common and is because people are losing respect for the police because of their bad behavior and refusal to get rid of their bad actors. This overbearing authoritism by the police will only become worse until people rein in the police and remind them that they are peace officers, not LEO’s. Being overzealous LEO’s does not seem to work with the american public...
When I was 15, I got busted for doing 65 or so in a 40 mph zone on a KDX 200. No helmet, illegal tires, etc.
Cullimated into about 11 tickets.
Motorcycle cop got me. Called him a dickhead after he told me to go straight home. He just laughed.
Lost my hardship license and did community service in teen court.
I was young and dumb.
Yeah ok. Vermont is a small state; surely, there are many more populated counties in the USA than the entire state of Vermont. But in general, counties are, legally speaking, creatures of the states. State law, typically set forth in a state constitution, can change, abolish, create, etc. counties, and county sheriffs to boot.
I saw a video the other day wherein the citizen was awarded 50,000 dollars after the Delaware state police tore up his protest sign then busted him for flipping them off.
Hopefully Vermont suffers a worse fate.
So losing your dignity and self respect as a man is not worth the threat of a night in jail... This is the America you want? Besides, you can seccessfully sue them for cash, deprivation of rights. Needs to be done, step up, take out the trash, be proud to be an American man. You don’t stop it at the local level you become a J6’er.
“”a Vermont state trooper arresting a man on disorderly conduct charges for the First Amendment–protected activity of flipping him off.””
.
We certainly know that the arrested man was only exercising the First Amendment and because of that, probably a US citizen.
A wetback would use a one pound rock from behind to make his point.
We could ask the cop which one they preferred...
.
...I hate when it does that.
I hope you encounter this kid some day. He will have no respect for you or anything you stand for.
It is sad that respect needs to be taught by a patrolman. I hope the kid learns some respect for law and order, don’t you?
The kids a jerk but only the cop is displaying an egregious lack of respect for the law.
That policeman is in the wrong job. If he can’t handle the bird, he can’t handle being a police officer.
“Heh, heh. I was born in 1951 and grew up in lily white suburbs. In that era, you just didn’t disrespect officers of the law. Nor Mom & Dad. Nor teachers. It was a different world, but one that worked quite well.”
Same thing growing up in southern Arizona.
The only difference between the two of us growing up is that southern Arizona was about 50% Hispanic.
The kids a jerk but only the cop is displaying an egregious lack of respect for the law.
I see the cop being a warrior to try to teach the kid something. I have experienced warriors like the patrolmen and thank God for them.
A major problem in society is not taking the time to correct someone.
So many are focused on individual rights, the kid has a right to flip off the cop. But with rights come responsibilities.
I hope you encounter this kid someday and have the pleasure of him flipping you off and everything you stand for. He will because nobody corrected him.
No. Stay on your knees.
