This is the moment Vladimir Putin warns that Ukraine 'has no future' while sipping champagne at a Kremlin awards ceremony for troops as fears are growing that Western support for Kyiv is fading.
In footage posted to X, the Russian president assured attendees Russia's defence plans were 'working more and more competently', with the country's arms industry allegedly producing 'several times more'.
He claimed that meanwhile Ukraine was running out of weapons. 'They don't have their own foundations,' Putin added.

“In fact, the pinnacle of agnosticism was from 1860 (Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species” was published in 1859) up to the end of the 19th century.”
That’s right, I’m talking earlier in the 19th Century when there was a revival.
An influential figure was Dr Arnold, who was headmaster of Rugby in the 1830’s.
He’s on death’s door !
“Last time I looked Russia IS in Europe.”
Well, part of it, anyway; the majority of it is in Asia (though the European part holds a majority of the overall population). It’s kind of like Turkey, of which only 3% is in Europe; the rest is in Asia.
They are nasty...yuck.
Additionally, he emphasized a lack of trust in the Russian position.
"There is no, and there was no, trust in the Russians that they would do it. That could only be done if there were security guarantees."
The Ukrainians knew the Russians can't be trusted.
They had, already, broken 2 security agreements.
They knew it was a sham offer and had no intention of accepting it.
“Tucker when still on Fox had guests who said we shouldn’t defend anything in the Pacific because “China’s not going to attack San Francisco”. “
If China really is a threat to attack the West Coast. The USA should be building up the navy, and expanding defence on the West Coast.
Not sending everything to Ukraine.
Nice try, Rev.
You said: “THe UK were going thru a bad patch in the late 18th century. There was a later revival, which coincided with a revival of Christianity amongst the elite of the UK.”
The late 18th century ended in 1799. England’s dominant religion was the Church of England. It lost congregants to some upstart “religions” that were Christian in name only. Agnosticism increased in popularity; and overall, the 19th century in England was one of religious “diversity” (i.e., moving away from the established Christian Church). With the rise of the industrial revolution English society grew more distant from religion, and participation in religion fell accordingly.
The Revival amongst the elites was in the Anglican Church. Led by, for example, Dr Arnold.
He probably* expected this outcome.
He probably* expected NATO would not commit to the war beyond letting UKR’s die in vain and US tax payers footing the bill.
Putin tried to avoid the war. He told NATO in 2008 that this would happen if they continued to expand NATO. Up until 12/2019 RU was trying to negotiate. Those attempts at negotiations were rebuffed by NATO.
The SMO got UKR to the negotiating table where a peace/ceasefire framework was hammered out, NATO scuttled that attempt too.
You can agree or disagree on the various policies, but NATO wanted this war -— they knew Putin would not back down. They counted on it. They rejected any and all negotiation with RU re UKR.
* I have no insight into what Putin thinks. Plenty of western diplomats recognized that the 2008 declaration to bring UKR into NATO would lead to war. Even Angela Merkel knew that, but she eventually acquiesced to US and UK pressure to support the initiative.
“An influential figure was Dr Arnold, who was headmaster of Rugby in the 1830’s.”
Anecdotal. In any event, in his day Arnold was seen as a quack, and an antisemite. His influence was probably along the lines of Jim Jones of Jonestown infamy in the 1970s, some 130 years later.
So am I and probably will be for a decade or three
“The Revival amongst the elites was in the Anglican Church. Led by, for example, Dr Arnold.”
Who was seen as a quack, and an antisemite.

He was an influential guy at the time.
He may fail by current Woke standards.
The novel Tom Brown’s School Day’s was a popularization of the teaching of Dr Arnold. Of course it may fail by Woke standards as well.
“I thought you said Putin was dead again. He keeps coming back to life more the Freddy Kruger.”
The modern day Rasputin that Marcus can’t get rid of.
Poor Marcus.
“He was an influential guy at the time.”
So was Jim Jones; after a fashion. He was so influential he convinced over 900 people to commit suicide. So, being a niche influencer is not a great sign of distinction.
“He may fail by current Woke standards.”
He failed by Victorian standards.
“The novel Tom Brown’s School Day’s was a popularization of the teaching of Dr Arnold.”
Entertaining, perhaps, for young children; which, I would suspect, was his target audience.
“Of course it may fail by Woke standards as well.”
No doubt.
This war was given to the world by the deep state neocons who run the corporation of the United States. And Lindsey Graham, of course.
War criminals provoke wars, that be us, very clever aren’t we.
Ukraine is DOOMED! DOOMED I TELL YA.
