Speaker Mike Johson (R-LA) backtracked and caved to the deep state and Democrats, moving to slip a deep state authorization into the defense bill.
Reports say that congressional leaders, including Johnson, agreed to put an extension of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The bill would extend Section 702 until April 19.
This frustrated many conservatives, including those who were supposed to be instrumental in crafting the final texts for the NDAA.
Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) released a video statement after she said that leadership asked conferees, which includes herself, to agree to the 3000-plus page NDAA, which is “being released behind closed doors without even getting time to read it!”
The Peach State conservative blamed Johnson for negotiating with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to “cut a deal” that would contain prohibitions against funding for abortion and “trans surgery prohibitions” that were in the House-passed NDAA under former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

“If they were truly working for us they would be doing everything in their power to cut spending, shrink the government, and impose accountability on the DC rogues and politically weaponized agencies. But they do none of that, which tells you everything you need to know about the GOP.”
Well said.
The FBI will just ignore the reforms. It’s already illegal to spy on Americans, and they did it anyway.
MTG has the “Testicular Fortitude” that Johnson is lacking.
There was no point in the replacement of Kevin. We’ll see no difference and likely jeopardize easy seats in a razor thin majority that are now contested. The new guy is the same as the old guy.
Are we NEVER going to get a House Speaker with any spine? Are our conservative values always going to be thrown under the bus? What possible excuse does Johnson have for his cowardice?
Thanks.
We’re involved in two wars...and you want to limit our ability to track foreign actors??

Why bother? If you don’t believe Johnson is compromised you are a Democrat troll /sarc/
What do they call them, the “Controlled Opposition”?
This morning on sqwak box, Liz Cheney and Joe Kernen went at it. She called Mike Johnson “corrupt and dangerous”. Makes me want to like the guy but I have my radar on
I do know that, Mitch told him he would only let Wray through so step off. Maybe Trump could have gone with interim appointments, not sure about that. Trump didn’t know was what a treasonous prick actually was that’s for sure
where’s the money coming from?

What stops the cowards from adding draconian penalties for abusing the Spy Powers, and making it relatively easy to get the evidence, prosecute, and convict the offenders, including judges. Life in prison with no parole sounds about right.

I’m all in for a third party, problem is we need a second party.
.
You nailed the point.
Graves, the US Atty in DC was unanimously approved by the Judiciary Committee, with Republicans only asking him questions like, are you going to get the J6 rioters? Do you agree J6 can never happen again?
So, Republicans loved him, he made Jan 6th the largest, highest priority case in History, and he refused to allow Hunter Biden to be charged in the district. He shot down a Grand Jury for 54 year old Hunter.
The Republicans brought all that to life. People don’t want to hear it, but they got exactly what they wanted. They didn’t question Graves on his position on getting Donald Trump or stopping the Politicization of the Justice Dept and courts.
Of course he did. We are under occupation.
Israel can rely on Republicans in Congress. Americans, not so much.
I hear it's really tough for the FBI to get a FISC warrant /s
