At least it has nothing to do with the majority of blacks that chose to stay on the back porch of the slave master plantation bosses in the democrat party...

Translation: Crap, the black community is starting to wonder why they are still in poverty after 50 years of democrats promising to make life better for them ... we need to tell them it's alll the republicans fault, but the last republican President actually did make things better for them so what can we do? .... I know, Blame Reagan!

But these predictions proved false due largely to policy changes brought about by the sweeping Reagan Revolution, which remade policy and American politics in ways that exacerbated the racial wealth gap and made closing it difficult, even today.

Bull Cheese. Income disparities within the black community is, was and will be a direct result of Lyndon Johnson's Great Society Programs.

"I'll have those _____ voting democrat for the next 200 years."

A lot of the “racial wealth gap” is rooted in laziness and sexual promiscuity. Doesn’t seem to affect Asians, though. Or blacks who come here from Africa!

Perhaps because they refuse to get a education?

I think it was Churchill who once observed that capitalism was the worst economic system...except for all the other ones.

I’ll take your word on that, because all I really know is the the educational system is broken beyond repair and no longer represents its namesake. Like everything the Democrats have taken control of has become completely worthless, all done by design at the behest of their globalist masters.

Ten bucks says that he's got a trust fund...lives in Cos Cob,CT or Alpine,NJ (both obscenely wealthy suburbs of NYC) ...and does a double take when he sees a dark skinned nanny or landscaper in his neighborhood.

IOW...he'd fit right in on Martha's Vineyard.

The author needs to be tied to a chair with his eyes held open Clockwork Orange style and have Dr. Thomas Sowell lecture him on race and economics. If that isn't possible, then he should just be beaten with Dr. Sowell's books.

Other than his position at ASU, I can find no personal information about him. But it wouldn’t surprise me if you are spot on.

This entire article is based on the thoughts of someone who knows nothing about economics.

These conservatives saw deficit-financed tax cuts as investments in the future, while dismissing spending on things like K-12 education and food programs as a waste of taxpayer money despite the fact that many of these programs paid for themselves.

Name one entitlement program that pays for itself.

Also, he doesn't know the distinction between wealth and income. Wealth is a stock variable, income is a flow variable, and they are very different as are the policies to affect them. Example: if I ask how much you make and you respond $100, I don't know your income. Income (flow) variables require a time subscript to make sense--$100 per hour, $100 per day, $100 per week. If I ask how much you have in savings, and you respond with $1000, I don't need more information because stock variables make sense with just a pure number...no time subscript needed. This clown shifts back and forth as if the measures are the same.

He also fails to point out that it is the wealthy people who create new jobs via economic growth. Some airhead Snowflakes suggest that Bezos give every poor person in the world $1000 and poverty would disappear. Really? That's enough to live on for the rest of your life? Until one of these Snowflake puts food on the table, clothes on their backs, and a roof over their heads for 260,000 people, sit down and STFU. You might try reading an econ book, too.

I could end poverty overnight. Simply gather up every family that makes less than $20000 per year (family of 4) and shoot them. No more poverty! Really? How long does it take before the family making $20001 starts bitching they are the poorest person in the country? Look at other countries around you and be thankful for what you have. And if you can't do that, find some other country you think does better and move there.

Reagan has been DEAD for 20 years.

Out of office 35 years.

DEMOCRATS have had numerous opportunities but we all know they secretly despise blacks and use them much like the old plantation owners.

Maybe he needs to go look at Reagan’s re election in ‘84.
He won 49 states. Guess minorities didn’t vote in that one.
