Doesn’t matter in this case
Paying taxes does not mean you don’t own the property

What happens if you stop paying property taxes? You forfeit (lose) your property. The State takes it.
I worry about the risks of “secondary renting”. More research money is needed.
cause property having taxes, home maintenance, upkeep and repair are all contributors to longevity... right???
Sounds like the quality “science” offered by John Tesh on the radio.
Try not paying your taxes, then see who owns the property.
Hint: It’s not you.
If your home requires access via a public road and is serviced by public utilities, then under your standard I would question whether you actually “own” it even if your property tax bill is $0.
This report is silly. I suspect any correlation between housing and aging has more to do with the housing type than the owner/tenant arrangement. How much does a tenant in a detached single-family home age vs. an owner of a studio condominium in a 25-story building?
Being a landlord will age you faster still.
So what?
Lots of things happen when you don’t pay taxes
Your argument is bogus
I recently saw what the fools were paying for rents in S.CA....Geezuz.
One man’s floor is another man ceiling...They’re basically civilian barracks with a fake façade!
That’ll be $2,600 dollars every 30 days.
Doesn’t that sound reasonable? LOL!
Guys, hey...guys, let’s push the idea that everyone deserve home ownership.. guys, really.. what’s a good headline to support this narrative? Guys?
But even if they owned their homes after years of paying rents/mortgages, they still get hit with massive property tax bills...
Property tax on those who actually PAID OFF their homes after 30 years of paying mortgages, should be abolished. How they ever allowed government to get away with that is just hard to believe.
Being a gay man shaves decades off your lifespan, so I guess being a gay who rents is even worse.
Not only does the higher population in urban areas skew the data, the lifestyle of those who live in urban areas does as well.
How “they” allowed government to “get away” with property taxes?
Ultimately, the “they” is all of us, based on laws passed by our elected officials, laws which allow for property taxes. And then laws which set the property tax rates.
We could ask questions about any form of taxation. Why do we pay sales tax? Everytime we buy something at retail, we pay a little more in the form of a tax. Why is this? Who decided that was a good idea?
Bull shit. I never asked for property taxes. Did you? And I never asked for violent open borders costing us billions, but government shoved it down our throats anyway. No?
Btw bert, I’m not impressed by your chamber of commerce canned responses.
Tell me, how long have you supported punitive, ever increasing property taxes on homeowners?
LOL.
I do not support punitive ever-increasing property taxes.
So if you point out that property taxes are assessed by various legal authorities , that means you support a Punitive level of Taxation?
