White House warns Congress the US is out of money, nearly out of time to avoid ‘kneecap’ to Ukraine

The Biden administration on Monday sent Congress an urgent warning about the need to approve tens of billions of dollars in military and economic assistance to Ukraine, saying Kyiv’s war effort to defend itself from Russia’s invasion may grind to a halt without it.

In a letter to House and Senate leaders and also released publicly, Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young warned the US will run out of funding to send weapons and assistance to Ukraine by the end of the year, saying that would “kneecap” Ukraine on the battlefield.

She added that the US already has run out of money that it has used to prop up Ukraine’s economy, and “if Ukraine’s economy collapses, they will not be able to keep fighting, full stop.”

The US has been out of money for a long, long time.

We need to stop this madness. Sending more money to Ukraine that has no accounting for where it goes is madness. Having Zelensky and his wife syphon off the “aid” to buy luxury items is madness!

--- "....we, the US, are at war with Russia?"

The lazy response -- "look it up" -- doesn't pass the smell test. The REAL answer is "yes, no and maybe." Wiggle words abound, and competing stances glare at each other across a rhetorical divide.

"Biden contended that “if we don't stop Putin's appetite for power and control in Ukraine, he won't limit himself just to Ukraine.” Perhaps Putin secretly daydreams about playing Napoleon, Hitler, and Stalin combined in conquering Europe. Yet, despite being in power for nearly a quarter century, he has done virtually nothing to put such a plan into operation. Even if he secretly harbored such ambitions today, who believes that he could succeed? His government botched the initial invasion of Ukraine and remains on the defensive 21 months later. If victory comes, whatever territory Moscow acquires likely will be modest and Russia will desperately need to recover economically. Imagining that a revived Red Army would accomplish for Vladimir Putin what no other dictator was able to achieve in centuries past is the triumph of fear over experience." Biden Fails to Explain Why U.S. Should Fight Proxy War against Russia

"The way to wage a proxy war is to maintain a conspiracy of silence. The target state is more likely to refrain from retaliating if the other side can resist taking a victory lap." Russia Is Right: The US Is Waging a Proxy War in Ukraine

"After hinting this past year that he favored military intervention, Biden has now declared openly that the U.S. would militarily intervene in the event of an attack by Beijing. This amounts to a de facto preemptive declaration of war on China whenever Taipei decides. While one is tempted to say the Senate ought to be consulted and their assent given, so mad for war is Washington these days the administration would no doubt get it."

Biden: A Proxy War with Russia Is Not Enough. We Must Also Seek War with China

"Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta says Russia's Vladimir Putin is increasingly isolated and his forces have stalled in Ukraine."

Watch U.S. Is in a Proxy War With Russia: Panetta

Ukraine is not a proxy war

A global proxy war: Ukraine is now the center of our Eurasian competition with Russia and China

An intellectual battle rages: Is the U.S. in a proxy war with Russia?

"That comes to $3,400 per month.

"Given the median rent is $1,978 and used car payment is $528, that leaves precisely $894 for everything else -- food, utilities, medical insurance and premiums, clothes, car repairs, sick kids, and that once a year dinner out at McDonald's."

My position is unchanged since the maidan overthrow.

If this is an important issue, Europe should man up and give and fight.

If they are not capable after receiving hundreds of billions in US welfare, we best reveal it now.

Not our problem.

No reason to steal from us taxpayers or shed American blood.

Then it’s time for a negotiated peace settlement.

“That’s childlike reasoning. The Soviets for instance, were forced to leave Afghanistan which led to the collapse of the USSR.”

Stop it. Not the same conditions. Russia isn’t going to collapse and they’re not going away.

Stalin in Yalta on the Crimean peninsula, sitting with two "Stalin-istas" -- the metaphor for what today's Zeeper's say will not happen. It happened.

Putin government will not fall no matter how many Russian casualties? Really? So then why hasn't he called for mass conscription?

Send your own money, then. We Americans are tired of our funds going to a known money-laundering operation.

We know you want to keep the killing going and you ridicule anybody who finds that abhorrent. I don’t understand grisly, bloodthirst like that and I thank God I don’t.

The U.S. is the only country supplying Ukraine?

Technically, no, but what the U.S. supplies dwarfs what is given by other countries to the point that what is given by other countries is fairly negligible. Trouble is, there seems to be little to no oversite of what is given.

I'm open to correction, but my perception is that the U.S. provides about 80% of the supplies sent to Ukraine.

---- "I'm open to correction, but my perception is that the U.S. provides about 80% of the supplies sent to Ukraine."

No correction. Just an observation about populations.

Currently, the USA is about 335 million, while the EU "zone" is about 450 million people, and all of Europe taken together is about 700 million people.

Russia seems to be about 140 million. Ukraine has 335+450 million, if one ignores the remainder of Europe, or about 785 million people.

How is it that "support" is getting so much when the US is putting the tab on its credit card? Sounds like things aren't quite working out the way all was touted. But 335 million are getting the larger portion of the bill, and planning to pay it off "tomorrow" if tomorrow is defined as never.

Liberty Lover, it seems as if the answer to these and many more questions for Americans is MORE LIBERTY. Not more debt and not more government.

Right, so we should just send tons of heavy weapons to Ukraine. Okay

“So you’re saying then that we, the US, are at war with Russia? A straight yes we are, or no we are not answer, please.”

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Your question should have been like this:
“Is Russia at war with the West?”

Answer : Evidently YES.

We have the right to defend ourselves against their attacks and aggressions and collaborations with Iran and Hamas.

Not my flag, not my country, not my war. Where does it end? It’s American treasure now, is it going to be the blood of American Marines later? Enough. Russia can’t seem to win a war after nearly two years of fighting against a country that is mainly composed of wheat farmers.

“The US has been out of money for a long, long time.”

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Every nation is out of money since long time ago.
Money is not based on gold anymore. It’s based on a “belief” that it “works”. As long as we continue to believe in our currencies, they will survive.
It all ends when we stop believing.
