The Biden administration on Monday sent Congress an urgent warning about the need to approve tens of billions of dollars in military and economic assistance to Ukraine, saying Kyiv’s war effort to defend itself from Russia’s invasion may grind to a halt without it.
In a letter to House and Senate leaders and also released publicly, Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young warned the US will run out of funding to send weapons and assistance to Ukraine by the end of the year, saying that would “kneecap” Ukraine on the battlefield.
She added that the US already has run out of money that it has used to prop up Ukraine’s economy, and “if Ukraine’s economy collapses, they will not be able to keep fighting, full stop.”

The EU countries have also been bullied….err persuaded….to allot financial support to Ukraine, as well as buying weapons to send there
Hungary and Slovakia have now balked at another infusion
“Cry Me A River”
This is Biden trying to shift the blame of his foolhardiness to Republicans in pushing Zelensky to the negotiation table earlier billions of military aid dollars ago in a lost cause and thus losing less territory than he will have to lose now to end this.
so money wins wars and not boots on the ground , we’ve been doing it wrong all these years
A straight yes we are, or no we are not answer, please.
“Right, destroying our enemies military without one US injury or death is not a worthwhile goal. US spent 5% of its military budget(Donating mostly older weapons) to destroy half of Russia’s capability with the help of Ukraine.”
This faulty reasoning is what it is coming down to. What’s going to stop the Russians from building more weapons?
No…Russia is in Crimea and Donbass to stay. Maybe more territory if the Ukes don’t end it soon. Hence the urgency for Ukraine to “ defend” its current positions
but don’t rule out that the ultimate settlement of this conflict will involve back channel negotiations over financial considerations in the interests of all parties
LOL, sure Poland, Finland, the Baltics, etc were "bullied" or more accurately they remember Russian aggression.
Its called a proxy war, look it up.
Sure, why do we ever bother to fight wars, the enemy can always "build more weapons". Okay
Maybe the crooked politicians who have stolen much of the money can dip into their private accounts to fund the war.
Not. One .More. Cent. Ever. Again.
You mean, they remember why the Germans and Euros in prior centuries have always failed on the battlefield to kick Russian a$$ into defeat……. and are eager to mix it up for Ukraine and give Russia the ol’ NATO go?
It just takes
money ( lots of that)
Tanks …lots
Artillery….lotser
Air support of course, easy peasy, set up no fly over Europe and 1/3 of the RF
Troops …lots and lots of those
Alternative to Russian gas
After all the USA has their backs…just look at Biden’s track record
“Sure, why do we ever bother to fight wars, the enemy can always “build more weapons”. Okay”
That’s right. They’ll always rebuild. Didn’t know we were at war with Russia yet. The war is going to end soon, and the Russians will just build more. We will have wasted a lot of money and achieved nothing.
When was this “Proxy” war declared?
forcing a war instead of forcing peace will never contain it either.
I think the speaker was very clear, close the border and enforce the current polices AND get funding. The border is wide open, not one additional penny of funding. Very simple, even a demented old man and his handlers can understand.
When did Reagan declare a proxy war against the Soviets when he sent weapons to the mujaheddin?
That’s right. They’ll always rebuild... We will have wasted a lot of money and achieved nothing.
That's childlike reasoning. The Soviets for instance, were forced to leave Afghanistan which led to the collapse of the USSR.
Sure, always "force peace" on the attacked. Is that your position with Israel?
