The problem is that a great number of people in America have been brainwashed into Marxism by the educational system. And enough of them have graduated and move into society (multiple generations, in fact) that a giant echo chamber has been created that prevents this brainwashing from being removed by people with opposing points of view.

Frankly, this brainwashing effort is so perfect and effective that it almost seems impossible to have been created by humans.
