Asked by "Meet the Press" moderator Kristen Welker if he would drop out of the 2024 presidential race if he didn't finish first or second in Iowa, DeSantis said, "Well, we're going to win the caucus."

"We’re going to win Iowa," DeSantis continued. "I think it’s going to help propel us to the nomination, but I think we’ll have a lot of work that we’ll have to do beyond that. I don’t think you’d take anything for granted."

DeSantis said. "We have a much better chance if we’re doing it with me as the candidate."

Let’s admit it: the Iowa caucus is a beauty pageant, which has little to no effect on the eventual outcome. It tends to make small people look big for a week, and then the real primaries kick in. (cf. Pat Robertson in 88)

I’m routing for Vivek. Not that I trust him or want him over Trump.

I’d just like to see him be a solid 2nd place to Trump in the polls and primaries and leave everyone else in the dust.

It would be cool to see a debate between Trump and Vivek that is more like a discussion of where they agree and disagree.

It would really shake up the Left, NeverTrumpers, and Trump fencesitters to see a side of Trump you don’t see much.

Nice. At first glance, I thought it said “We’re going to win the circus.”

Worth repeating....

Swing for the fences, Ron. But the object is not to go for the long ball, but get on base, and that is done with bunts, short chopping bounders to the outfield, or low line drives aimed for that pocket on either side of second base. Going too low on the ball results in pop flies to the infield.

Drilling one right back at the pitcher is playing ugly. The next pitch is likely a beanball.

Iowa is caucus. Not primary.

The GOPe Swamp filth can flood caucus venues with selected people.

https://www.iowagop.org/caucus-faq/

The party leadership can select the locale to exclude Trump supporters via sheer distance.

Trump’s Iowa team has to proceed on the basic, pure assumption that GOPe Swamp Filth will be orchestrating the rules to keep their puppet alive in the race so that when there is a court conviction, they can explode to the microphones and say the Party cannot nominate someone in jail.

It would be beyond the pale, you see, to allow anyone the people choose to have the nomination.

I would not be too surprised if DeSantis won the Iowa Caucus. That has certainly been the main focus of that campaign.

If you remember, Ted Cruz pulled out the Iowa Caucus in 2016 and for the next few days, all the Trump haters here danced jigs and jubilantly declared the Trump campaign over.

We know how the rest of the story turned out.
