A New Orleans teenager has been found guilty of murdering grandmother Linda Frickey who had one of her arms torn off in a violent carjacking in March last year.

It took a jury less than four hours to convict Honore on Monday. He now faces a mandatory life sentence on a charge of second degree murder.

I remember when the victims daughter used her father’s death as a campaign issue. Giving 2 of the 3 men involved the death penalty, and the other life in prison with a minimum 40 year sentence, wasn’t enough. She wanted him executed for a hate crime, not just murder. Bush’s position “all murders are hate crimes” and “they will be executed” resonated better with Americans, and her bitter little campaign ad backfired.
