Police say they received calls about gunshots around 6:30 p.m. Two men were found injured on the scene, another man found injured a short distance away.
Channel Three has confirmed that all three are young men of Palestinian descent. The men were transported to UVM Medical Center where we’re told they’re being treated for non-fatal wounds.
Police haven’t identified nor apprehended a shooter. They’ve closed off the portion of North Prospect between Loomis Street and Brookes Avenue.
Around 8:30 p.m. a handful of officers survey the area, shining flashlights in yards and between houses. A member of the Burlington Police sets up spotlights highlighting the scene. What appears to be trash and some fabric litter the yard where a victim was wheeled out hours earlier.
Several neighbors peek out windows at the flashing lights. Those who stepped outside told me they had no idea what happened just a few doors down.
We’ll continue to provide updates as we learn more.

Police say they received calls stating that a person was shot near North Prospect street at around 6:25 p.m. Officers arrived at the scene and found two people shot at the location, and another person injured nearby. No shooter has been identified. Police are asking pedestrians and drivers to avoid the area. Police say they are in the earliest stages of the investigation. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
There are a lot of refugees from New York City (e.g., Bernie Sanders and Howard Dean) living in Burlington. I am a NYC refugee myself. If I had my life to live over I might try to become a physics professor at UV Burlington. It’s more Woodstock than Moscow on Lake Champlain, though admittedly the local political climate is juvenile. Think of a state that’s a big college town.

Burlington has had a leftist government for years, but recently installed a BLM - defund the police government. Crime is surging, lots of homeless people (in a place that gets to -20 in the winter!). Open drug use, downtown Walgreens one block from Church Street closed permanently because of theft, Outdoor Gear Exchange is relocating. The NY Times, of all things, did a good writeup a year ago, and things are worse now.
It's not Portland or SF, not yet, anyway, but all the social changes that ruined those cities are in place.
The mayor is not running for re-election, and there are strong anti-crime candidates, but I think if they split the vote, the one BLM candidate will probably win.
UVM hired private police for the bus station and the airport to protect students departing and arriving for Thanksgiving.
Not looking good along the beautiful shores of Lake Champlain.
AMEN. They are not immigrants; they are on a religious mission to destroy us.
But Burlington has been run by Democrats for at least 60 years.
The BLM-defund the police thing is new.

A bit off topic but I’ve always wondered why the University of Vermont is referred to as UVM instead of simply UV.
You’d think that anyone of Pali origin might be smart enough to keep quiet about it.

We have a cousin by marriage in her early 80’s who moved from the DC area and bought a nice new country home in Vermont.
Her former husband, a cousin of mine, said that she fitted in perfectly with her other rich elite liberals in her new home.

In our work, we found out the department of correction did not shoot escaping inmates. Even though the tower and fence officers were armed. The rule was, if you are personally attacked then defend yourself. If not, let them go and call on the radio.
Sometime during our stay someone called the governor about the policy. Someone with deep pockets. The policy was changed to shoot escapees who do not comply with two verbal orders. People who lived near a prison didn’t like the old policy when it hit the papers. Donchano!
No such thing as a carry license in VT. The state constitution is the license until the radical lefties and lesbians in the legislature can engineer a constitutional change. Oh, and by the way, diversity is our strength.
My late aunt graduated from Middlebury, married a Chevy Chase surgeon, where she raised her family (she was the assistant principal of Chevy Chase H.S.) and had a country home in Middlebury. One of her five sons became a lawyer, and recently retired to million dollar house on Lake Champlain. And yes, they are reflexively Chevy Chase liberals. I liked her, very much, but our politics were diametrically different.

Are they arrested for their COLOR or for their BEHAVIOR? End of discussion!

Sounds like somebody “saw something and did something.” Probably sent in by the college “perfesers” to come in and organize the Student Loan Deadbeats to start waving the Hammy/Palo flag.
