Ex-officer Derek Chauvin, convicted in George Floyd’s killing, was stabbed in prison, AP source says

Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd, was stabbed by another inmate and seriously injured Friday at a federal prison in Arizona, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.

The attack happened at the Federal Correctional Institution, Tucson, a medium-security prison that has been plagued by security lapses and staffing shortages. The person was not authorized to publicly discuss details of the attack and spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity.

The Bureau of Prisons confirmed that an incarcerated person was assaulted at FCI Tucson at around 12:30 p.m. local time Friday. In a statement, the agency said responding employees contained the incident and performed “life-saving measures” before the inmate, who it did not name, was taken to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

No employees were injured and the FBI was notified, the Bureau of Prisons said. Visiting at the facility, which has about 380 inmates, has been suspended.

Messages seeking comment were left with Chauvin’s lawyers and the FBI.

Chauvin’s stabbing is the second high-profile attack on a federal prisoner in the last five months. In July, disgraced sports doctor Larry Nassar was stabbed by a fellow inmate at a federal penitentiary in Florida.

Chauvin, 47, was sent to FCI Tucson from a maximum-security Minnesota state prison in August 2022 to simultaneously serve a 21-year federal sentence for violating Floyd’s civil rights and a 22½-year state sentence for second-degree murder.

He shouldn't be in prison to begin with. He didn't kill George Floyd, George Floyd killed himself with fentanyl

They should just parole the guy for time served. The worst he was guilty of was being a dick and willful negligence. His life is ruined.

The authorities need Chauvin gone as evidence is spreading that George Floyd (Piss be Upon him) died of decades of using dangerous narcotics, and the narrative of the evil white cop is wearing thin.

Derek Chauvin did not kill himself.

The Left is terrified that Chauvin is going to succeed in getting his conviction thrown out and expose their lies and corruption.

If he is murdered in prison their worries are over.

This video tells what really happened:

The Fall Of Minneapolis tells the truth.

Establishment is also terrified if Chauvin is rightfully freed, the streets will burn again.

I suppose it won’t be long until somebody blames this stabbing on an “assault rifle.”

Let us not forget that the girls and boys that make up the U.S. Supreme Court had the opportunity to get him out of this death sentence he has been given and they failed for no reason given.

They won’t get involved in political elections, they pick and choose what they want to deal with as long as it doesn’t upset their leftist friends.

Now they can’t even step in and save an innocent police officer’s life.

Why are they even getting paid? Useless waste of money.

“They won’t get involved in political elections, they pick and choose what they want to deal with as long as it doesn’t upset their leftist friends.”

And that’s an ostensibly “conservative” court! Imagine what a liberal one would be like?

I saw another piece somewhere that says he had died... the piece was withdrawn shortly thereafter but it did make wonder how serious the stab wounds were. Does anyone have anything further they saw that looks to be reliable concerning that?

From the divine viewpoint this unfair imprisonment may be a great blessings — which will resound with blessings through eternity. Fellow believers, pray that these officers will hear the gospel clearly presented, believe, and receive everlasting life.

Trump could pardon Chauvin, but it would do no good, MN would never pardon him on his state charges for the same reason courts won’t overturn his conviction—fear of widespread, destructive, ‘mostly peaceful’ riots.
