Donald Trump's election interference case could be delayed by months after his lawyers applied for a vast array of classified government documents.
On Wednesday, they applied for 57 groups of documents, many of them highly classified, on everything from Justice Department correspondence with President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden to Trump's White House scheduling diary.
Trump's team also applied for access to documents pertaining to Russian and Iranian meddling in the 2020 election; Chinese hacking of election computers; full details of all undercover agents deployed at the January 6 riots and a vast array of correspondence relating to voting in seven states during the 2020 election.
The former president was indicted on four counts in Washington D.C. for allegedly working to overturn the results of the 2020 election in the run-up to the January 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol. The Republican has pleaded not guilty to the charges that include conspiracy to defraud the U.S. government and conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding.

There is no way this lawsuit can be handled to conclusion in less than 5 years. I’ve had one, not nearly as complex, go on 15 years and on my side took four different lawfirms to stay in the fight! So, the title to this article alone is misleading to the American people.

Documents and Objects. Upon a defendant's request, the government must permit the defendant to inspect and to copy or photograph books, papers, documents, data, photographs, tangible objects, buildings or places, or copies or portions of any of these items, if the item is within the government's possession, custody, or control and:
(i) the item is material to preparing the defense;
(ii) the government intends to use the item in its case-in-chief at trial; or
(iii) the item was obtained from or belongs to the defendant.
As is often the case, the prosecution will move to limit the defendant’s discovery request on the basis that it is overbroad, immaterial etc.

Lol........I’m not a lawyer! I just made the mistake of developing and trying to develop multi million dollar deals in Austin. Nearly every one became a lawsuit with “activists”. One did last 15 years and I won 8 of 8 “Questions” put to the jury. I can’t name names because of the Confidentiality Agreement..........still in force.
The prosecutors deliberately scheduled the trials during the 2024 election so they could interfere in the election. The trials do them no good if Trump has already won the election when they occur.
Right, how dare he try to mount a defense against the political lawfare.
I hope they requested all texts, emails, and other correspondence of Nancy Pelosi, including her communications with her daughter who was there filming the entire fiasco that she manufactured. Also they need to question the film crew too, for what they new of the plan. I’m sure they have some interesting footage,
