A disheartening new poll conducted by the Echelon Insights research institute purports to show that 72% of American voters would not be willing to volunteer to fight for their country if the United States faced a major conflict.
The poll of 1,029 likely voters, obtained by Newsweek, was conducted October 23-26, in the days following the heinous Hamas terror attacks against Israel on October 7.
That the overwhelming majority of U.S. adults apparently would not be willing to serve in the United States military if the country faced another major war is concerning to say the least, especially given extreme tensions in the Middle East and surrounding Iran, Russia, China, and North Korea, the modern day Axis of Evil.
By contrast, a Daily Mail poll conducted by J.L. Partners and released early last month found that 64% of 1,000 likely voters were willing to die defending the United States-- in the event of an invasion. However, the same poll showed that fully 30% of Americans ages 18-29 would rather surrender than die fighting for their country. Moreover, the poll found that less than half-- 46% to be exact-- of Democrats would be willing to die fighting for America. Sadly, the latter figure is anything but a shock. Why would you lay down your life for a nation you despise, one peopled with oppressors and—Trump supporters?!
The U.S. military continues to be represented by those from South and rural areas…and from families who have a history of service. This, too, is unsurprising. These areas-- and families-- tend to be more conservative and Republican. And patriotic. They are less likely to be entitled
No sane person likes war or looks forward to dying in battle, but, as someone once noted: If you have nothing to die for, you have nothing to live for.

If this country were the country they grew up in, or something close to it, they would fight for THEIR country.
Problem is, it is all but completely stolen and transformed.
When you say your country, what does that mean?
Are we fighting for just land or the American ideals?
If the ideals don’t exist anymore, the land itself is not worth fighting for. There is no amount of socialism that I consider worth fighting for.
Which country? Globohomo or the Old Republic?
Not willing to fight for gender pretenders, pronouns, safe spaces, puppy masks, fursuits, “white guilt/generational guilt” 2 minutes of hate briefings, “if you believe in the Constitution you’re a terrorist” briefings, places we have no strategic interests, and drag queen groomer story hours.
Who would want to place themselves in harm’s way for these libs in charge who HATE America. And do you really trust our illegitimate Pres to care abt you?
It can mean fighting for the people who happen to live here.
👍👍👍👍👍 I did 20 years. I wouldn’t do it now. Too much wokeness.
A person is supposed to join the military to DEFEND his country, not fight FOR his country. Big difference there.
George Washington would faint if he saw a map showing the hundreds of US military bases scattered around the world. Are all these bases vital to our national defense? I think not.
It is not so simple. People might fight to defend their country, but no sane person would ever want to place there lives in the hands of someone like Joe Biden or those like him.
MY County died in the first week of November 2020.
I will not support the evil that has replaced it and I will not encourage my nephew’s or niece’s to enter its military.
I am too crippled up to resist the new regime activity but offer passive resistance at every opportunity.
This County has gone to hell; I refuse to follow.

I did nearly 21 years between active duty and National Guard.
I don’t even recognize my state let alone the Federal Government.
Then maybe one can engage in a sensible discussion about fighting for "values."
Can you imagine how quickly our entire combatant fleet would end up running aground or hitting a commercial vessel?
I saw an article the other day about the Governor of Indiana visiting an Indiana National Guard unit -— in Kenya.
I’d be willing to fight against the dnc.
I’ll fight to defend my neighborhood, my township, my county, and maybe even my state (at least the “red” parts of it). Anything beyond that isn’t even on my radar screen.
Who knows what we’ve got now. It’s a mix at best.
