On the other end, the Navy will issue a stop loss order, meaning that service members approaching their expiration of active service (EAS) will be involuntarily retained on active duty. [Enlisted personnel typically sign an 8-year service contract, with four years of active duty and four years of inactive reserve status, subject to recall. At their discretion, the Navy will adjust that 4/4 split and add more active time. It’s all a real morale builder. /sarc]

It is such a great honor to serve in the USNavy! Are they really recruiting much? I’ve attended many high school and community events where they COULD well have recruited (all they had to do was ask for an information table), and they weren’t there. I can’t judge whether they’re doing it more nationally since my “sample size” is necessarily limited — but they sure aren’t recruiting as much as they could. Also, many high schools have abandoned ROTC activity groups so that their interested students don’t get that opportunity either. ROTC can be a great learning activity for kids even for those that do not decide to join up when they graduate, but of course many do ... and this alone must be depressing the enlistment numbers? I blame the school administrators.

Not surprising at all. What young person of normal intelligence would offer to put their life at risk fighting for a country run by LOSERS AND CRIMINALS, being overrun everyday by illegal invaders, and crawling with arsonists, thieves, and murderers???? Most young people today may be stupid and brainwashed, but it doesn’t take a lot of smarts to see that going into an armed forces recruitment office today is a bad idea!

I served 7 years in the USN Nuclear Submarine service. We carried on with the old diesel boat hell raising traditions. I drank my Dolphins in the Sub Vets bar in Groton Conn. Destroyer sailors had a few names for us, it was ok we had a few names for them too. Our motto was “anything that floats and is bigger than a shitcan is a target”. God help our service personnel with the crap officers leading them now. I thought Jimmy Carter was the bottom, lower than whale shit. I didn’t know the half of it. I say a little prayer every night for all of them. Young folks going in harms way. They have to watch their backs as much or more than their fronts as they face the enemies.
Too all the vets here thank you for your service and God bless those that have passed before.
