DeSantis LOST fans because he surrounded himself with ALL THE WRONG people the base is DONE with the GOPe who are just as responsible for the demise of this nation as the Dems!! THAT is why DeSantis lost fans, if nothing else Trump has EXPOSED the whole cabal!!
“Could be people are not buying what he has to sell?”
Are people now buying more of what Nikki is selling? I buy less of what she’s selling than what DeSantis is selling.
Aw, are your “widdle” feelings hurt? Man up. Vote for who has the best ideas. Mean tweets and name calling don’t hurt anyone. Destroying America with their policies like the Democrats have done is the REAL problem.
Quite a different claim than you made earlier: “The people in the district affective now have much higher taxes.”
Meatball sniffing on Chrissy’s farts
Get a life. I posted based on an article, you asked for more so I looked up what had happened.
“Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday undid a looming $1.2 billion tax hike on Central Florida residents that he inadvertently imposed a year ago in a hastily passed bill meant to punish Walt Disney Co. for criticizing his so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law.”
Not only was the writer correct as to the effect on taxpayers but DeSantis was forced to cancel the scheduled dissolution of a special taxing district for the 25,000 acres owned by Disney south of Orlando, which lawmakers passed and DeSantis signed into law over a three-day span last April. Notice that there was tremendous press attention to the passing of the billl & DeSantis sunned himself in the praise of folks who said the bill showed he was a real conservative.
Strangely there was no press on the cancellation, no admission that the action was poorly planned, poorly constructed and had disasterous consequences.
You completely miss the real point in trying to slur me when you should be glad to have the information about DeSantis, which casts him in a very poor light.
She is a bird brain IMO. Polls smolls. She wants to force people to identify themselves in all dealings on the internet. Now that’s a bird brain. She is an advertisement of the consequences of hiring on the basis of diversity rather than merit based. A real lightweight Romney clone.
IOW Trump aced this one and it will stick because it’s true.
Dream on that you or anyone else would have done better. Look around the world. The Swedes are the only ones who did better & they were savaged at the time. COVID was a weapon and it was very successful, both the disease and the premade jab which they pretended to develop at warp speed.
He has zero charisma. He cannot work a room of 100 small town Iowans who love him. He makes his own supporters cringe. Most of whom were #Nevertrump anyway. So, if he struggles to sell to those who will PAY him, he has no hope with those unsure. Seen it first hand several times. Even his smile makes you feel like his ready to go take a dump. Total uncanny valley vibes.
She isn’t really rising in the polls. That is media created because the know people don’t like her.
yeah, I guess since Ron is in fifth place then the attacks against him will stop. /sarcasm
By my count you posted based on two articles: one from NPR and the other the Huffington-Puffington Post.
Both expressed fears about DeSantis - in fact for a while I was scared to death DeSantis would take my grandchild's plastic rat away in a Storm-trooper raid but a year and a half later that has not happened.
And I did not see data in either article that supports your current claim: “The people in the district affective now have much higher taxes.”
Sorry. If you are logically challenged I can’t help you. My first comment was based on a recollection, as I said. I looked further & posted an article that confirmed that DeSantis’ action in forcing legislation eliminating the district was rash & ill considered and he was forced to reverse the legislation to avoid a billion+ tax imposition on residents of the two counties effected.
If that information is of no interest feel free to ignore it. If you are acting as thread police I clarified a statement I made since I found that developments had confirmed the inadvisability and damaging nature of DeSantis’ forced legislation & that the legislation had been reversed.
If you want to pretend that this means DeSantis’ actions have not increased taxes you are ignoring the millions spent on defense of his Disney vendetta and the money used on his various promotional trips etc.
And I did not see data in either article that supports your current claim: “The people in the district affective now have much higher taxes.”
This is not my current claim. As I have explained 3 times. The increased taxes were projected, the projection was correct and DeSantis was forced to revoke the legislation (without any fanfare) to avoid over 1Billion of taxes & bond liabilities.
That is fine; you are not the first person to make an attack on someone you don't like and then have to walk it back for a lack of facts.
Your claim: “The people in the district affective now have much higher taxes” is not supported by the article. And you have not provided data supporting your claim.
You would have been on firmer ground if you had just said “liberals claim taxes will kill the middle class in Florida if DeSantis does not stop opposing Disney's grooming efforts.” You could probably cite many left wing publications making that case.
To be clear: are you claiming property taxes have gone up because of rate increases or because of higher property valuations?
Re: 58 - I believe your post is pretty accurate.
And the cognitive dissonance is pretty apparent. I’ve seen so many excuses made by some posters on behalf of President Trump regarding the bump stock ban. The bump stock is just a thing - but Trump used the administrative state - the Deep State if you will - to get a part essentially classified as a machine gun.
Yet some of those SAME posters were howling when Biden had the ATF reclassify pistol braces. “Biden’s taking away our gun rights!”. Might have helped to be more vocal about the bump stock ban.
People can’t grasp that President Trump is weak on the 2nd Amendment and needs to be kept on a short leash regarding 2nd Amendment policy, as his first inclination is gun control.
Stop with the silliness. You are beating a dead horse. I made no attack and I walked nothing back. I made a statement based on an article. I looked further into the situation because you questioned the statement. The supposition in the article which I reported was correct, but since DeSantis revoked the legislation the taxes did not increase.
I hope you hold yourself to your own standards and check every statement you make to be sure the situation has not changed in the interval.
I doubt you do. I made sure to qualify what I said with the updated information on the forum so that no one would be misled.
DeSantis looks like even more of a jerk based on the updated info. Not an attack just a fact.
Yeah, I will not vote for more mean tweets. /sarc
That is BS.
good post.
