There was a list of people in my DNA and 168 down was this guy by the name of Gilbert; I don’t think that many generations down but more of a side relation like the cousin of my cousin who is my cousin a bunch times removed. In any case, there’s African blood there.

If schools were interested they could implement the rule that in order to qualify you had to be a registered member of a US government acknowledged tribe.

Sure you will have a few people who are who's grandparents were smart enough to know that letting the government have a list of who is a certain ethnicity or religion is not a good idea but most of them will be on the registry.

But they won't. Because they are more interested in bragging points then what is true. Which is a problem in most organizations now but is especially true in academia.
