Keep an eye out.
You never know where I’ll show up.
It had a picture of him and a girl, walking down a street in Greenwich Village, I think BLOWING IN THE WIND was on it, but I really ONLY remember what the album cover looks like. LOL
But I DID see his FIRST BIG public appearance. Was at a Joan Baez concert, he was NEVER mentioned as being there, then she brought him out and the entire BASEBALL STADIUM booed! I think that that was in 1963.
Nashville Skyline (1969)
My many years ago my nephew borrowed it from me and I had to arm wrestle him to get it back.
The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan (1963)
The dreaded #666, just threw salt over my shoulder. 😁
He is wearing jeans, a shirt, and an open jacket, hunched over and leaning into a blonde girl, on the street, NOT sidewalk, in Greenwich Village.
Funny that I can remember the picture so well but NOTHING else. LOL
I wonder IF it's worth anything now.
Actually, it was my brother's, who traded me for it and I don't remember what he wanted/took. But at least my grandson is happy with it.
I have seen him many times, but always in big venues.
It was his album “Slow Train Coming” that pointed me to Jesus.
No matter what he has done before or since, I will always be grateful for that.
Now with vinyl coming back they may just be if they are in pristine condition.
I have all my albums from my teen years and still have a record player to play them on.
They are hidden in a closet because hubby kept telling me to get rid of them.
I have 45’s too, the ones that weren’t stolen at parties that is.
😱
💞
Sounds like you have some classics!
Our SIL has all of his dad’s LP collection, from the 60s.
All very well taken care of. I’d love to sit down and go through them, all.
Dylan was dopesick and hung over and yet had enough chutzpah to attempt to insult the cabbie (just, no, the one thing you never do in London, bloody awful behaviour with Blob living up to every ugly American stereotype he attempted to punch down on in his music), insult Britons, attempted to bait Lennon ... who bided his time on home turf and took Dylan apart a . sentence . at . a . time.
What a great story!
Here’s some ones that sell high in good condition:
Srgt Pepper
Beggars Banquet
Sticky Fingers (with the working zipper)
Anything Led Zeppelin
Dark Side of the Moon
Early Dylan
Early Stones
Early Beatles
Early Metal
Grateful Dead
Condition is everything...and we were not always “kind” to our records back then.
I got rid of all of my 45s, sadly, but still have a LOT of old albums...THE BROTHERS 4, DAVE BRUBECK, THE WEAVERS, JOAN BAEZ, THE KINGSTON TRIO, JOHNNY MATHIS...YIKES, more. They’re all in good condition, but not “mint”;. though the covers are.
