Lacking power at the state level, conservatives are leaning into local governance to protest California’s progressive politics. The fight in Huntington Beach could be a harbinger of what’s to come.

I wouldn’t celebrate until the last nutty judge has had xyr say.
PTL! It’s a start.....one....step...at a time.
First of all...it’s not a flag....it’s a banner...
House to house street fighting, like the founders intended.
But no name for it ‘rings” quite like “Fag Flag” ...
Huntington Beach is also fighting the state, Gavin Newsom and AG Ron Bonta as well - after...
“The state wants Huntington Beach to adopt zoning that would allow developers to build 13,368 new housing units over the next eight years, almost 6,000 of which must be low- or very-low-income housing.”
Unfortunately, yesterday:
“Federal judge dismisses Huntington Beach’s lawsuit against state over housing mandates
City Attorney Michael Gates said the city will appeal the new decision to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.”
And, from Newsom himself:
“The leaders of Huntington Beach refuse to build their fair share of housing and are flagrantly breaking state law.
These actions are selfish and make our homeless crisis worse.
The city has tried these antics before. They lost then and they will lose now.”
Newsom, after all, believes the homeless crises is caused by a lack of housing.
I am doing a praise DANCE with you dear Jane.. Our pastor and church really came along side the officials at the schoolj in Chino Valley,
and our pastor talked openly in Sunday service.... to press our people to GET OUT and support the vote to STOP this insanity.
To God be the GLORY!!! but we must continue on...........
God bless Huntington Beach.... and Chino Hills is following..
The Banner of the Bannanner?
A flag is a symbol of a nation or state.
Everything else is a banner.
Buggery Banner.
Dear pollywog.....THIS is exactly what it will take!! And, where it can start....in the church...since many of our legislators are BOUGHT and sold....
God bless your dear pastor!
This is EXCELLENT news, indeed.
I pray it takes hold, all across your beautiful state. 🙏🏻
The low-income housing Newsom is demanding HB to build will all go to ‘migrants’ and ‘asylum-seekers’ and will, of course, do nothing to help the current homeless. After all, these new residents have to live somewhere.
Huntington Beach ‘selfishly’ wants to keep some semblance of a civilized community, rejecting all of the blessings that that Diversity brings.
“Buggery Banner”
I’m going to use that, interchangeably with “Fag Flag”.
Thank you.
Not pithy enough, See HTB’s post number 12.
“Buggery Banner”.
You are welcome.
Not long after winning election last November, the new conservative majority of the Huntington Beach city council adopted an ordinance that prevents the rainbow LGBTQ+ flag from flying at city hall during Pride Month. Then this summer, the council dissolved a human relations committee formed after two notorious hate crimes by white supremacists in the mid-1990s; rewrote a declaration on human dignity to eliminate any reference to hate crimes but recognize “from birth the genetic differences between male and female”; and took away the ability to select who gives the invocation before its meetings from an interfaith council... [lodging it with the Mayor].
Last month, council members passed a ban on government mask and vaccine mandates....
Hardly a few weeks pass... without another contentious vote pushing the community to the right—...into some of the country’s fiercest cultural battles. ...Huntington Beach’s conservative council majority has set out to erase any vestige of progressive governance or “wokeism.”
But now an opposition, growing fearful of just how far and how fast the conservative council may go to reshape their community, has galvanized around their latest move to create a citizen review panel to monitor library books for sexual content...
