Ron DeSantis floats Iowa caucus sites in Florida, so snowbirds wouldn’t have to go home to vote

'Do one in Naples, one in Marco Island. You know, whatever you need to do.'

Back in Iowa Saturday morning, Ron DeSantis said he wanted snowbirds visiting the Sunshine State to be able to vote without going back home.

The 2024 presidential candidate told supporters in Muscadine that he wanted caucus sites in Southwest Florida.

“But I do know with so many people that go down in Florida, I have to figure out — I may petition the Iowa Republican Party to have some caucus sites in Southwest Florida,” the Governor quipped.

“So people could just go, I mean, do one in Naples, one in Marco Island. You know, whatever you need to do.”

The Governor’s trial balloon was included as part of a very familiar riff about how happy Iowans are with the conservative governance of his key endorser, Kim Reynolds and how his children are looking forward to “seeing snow” in an early voting state.

It’s also unclear how those elections would be made secure in a way that accords with Iowa law. DeSantis has been an exponent of so-called election security for years, but if this proposal came to pass, it seems ripe for potential exploitation and subversion.

So wrong—and wrongly self-serving!

I don’t get why DeSantis is suggesting this, other than as a publicity stunt of some kind-every adult knows what “absentee voting” is-especially military vets-which many snowbirds in Florida, Texas, etc are-so this makes no sense to me...

There are cabins and RV parks here booked full with Snowbirds every Winter, a major source of seasonal income-my best friend’s sister is now a snowbird-he said she will be voting here-absentee-she arrived, as usual here in late Oct, ahead of any snow in Oregon-and I have a couple of snowbird neighbors-they do the same-not a liberal in the bunch...

Sounds shady Meatball. Maybe they should vote in their own state that is Iowa. Ya think?

* * * *

Yes, it does sound shady -- and fishy too. A Ted Cruz style ruse to steal the primary from the We the People through back-end "deals" and caucus shenanigans.

This is another indicator DeSantis is completely tone deaf on the election fraud issues we MAGA supporters and patriots care most about.

For some time now, the DeSantis campaign has been a seriously listing vessel (meme). It will soon sink completely and make its grave in Davy Jones' Locker.
