Why hold it in Riyadh? Probably for no bigger reason than it’s the capital and largest city of Saudi Arabia, and is also the seat of its government.
Why not hold it in Mecca? Probably for the simple reason that Mecca has no airport: the nearest airfield is over 40 miles away, at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
(Plus, per the article, the Arab League and the OIC were having separate meetings in Riyadh anyhow, but they decided to combine them into one given current events.)
I wonder how the UN would react if Trump 47 were to host a worldwide Jewish/Christian Summit, where the people of the earth could decide what to do about the “Islamic problem”?
Not sure how Saudi and Iran will resolve their serious differences who have consistently fought about who is the rightful heir of Muhammed and thus leader state of Islam...Iran is not Arab thy are Persions....just how that will play out in this meeting since Irans President is there also will be interesting.
The Arab leaders could just as well sit on Irans involvement or curtail it....but that would never be made known outside their circle to the world. That’s not how they operate. It’s always masked and or a matter of deception in what is reported.

This is a continuation of a war begun in 1948, and kept going through 1967, 1973, lebanon wars, intifada wars, and gaza wars.
It is better considered as the Arab War to Eradicate Israel, 1948 to present. There really hasn’t been much of a pause, politicians notwithstanding.
It will continue until israel is forced to control all of jerusalem and historic Israel. That will mean summer is nigh.

Since Reuters wrote it, I knew it was going to be against Israel. I’m surprised Saudi Arabia is against the war. They won’t let Palestinians in, so they know they’re bad.
