Secretary of State Antony Blinken called on Wednesday for a united and Palestinian-led government for Gaza and the West Bank after the war ends, as a step toward Palestinian statehood. That vision sharpens U.S. differences with ally Israel on what the future should look like for the Palestinian territories once Israel’s military campaign against Hamas winds down.
Blinken’s outline of what Americans think should come next for Gaza also serves as a check on the postwar scenarios floated by officials of Israel’s hard-right government and its supporters. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement Monday that Israel’s military would likely maintain security control of Gaza for an “indefinite period” appears to have heightened U.S. concerns.
Any postwar governing plan for Gaza “must include Palestinian-led governance and Gaza unified with the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority,” Blinken told reporters in Japan. […]
Blinken reinforced the Biden administration’s rejections of any return of lasting direct Israeli control in Gaza, as well as of a proposal — promoted in a policy report by Israel’s intelligence ministry — to push Gaza’s Palestinian residents into neighboring Egypt.
“We’re very clear on no reoccupation, just as we’re very clear on no displacement of the Palestinian population,” Blinken said. “And, as we’ve said before, we need to see and get to, in effect, unity of governance when it comes to Gaza and the West Bank, and ultimately to a Palestinian state.” …

Since when does the U.S. think it has the right to tell Israel what it is going to do with its own land?
Does Blinken hold dual citizenship with Israel, since I assume he is a Jew?
More of the worn out foreign policies of the last 30 years of the 20th century. Never came close to working then, won’t now. But that’s Biden, out of step and out of date.
Gee, I thought Gaza already had a Palestinian-led government, namely Hamas, which chose to attack Israel on 10/7.
Slimes threatening to pull the plug, knowing The White Hospice understands that much ... President Trump will ride renewing US domestic energy production -- alone -- to a landslide.
Two empires crumbled last century for messing with the God of Israel’s plans. The British who reneged on Balfour and tried to limit Jewish entry into the region under their control. And the Soviet Union, that voted for the creatiom of Israel but later prevented Jewish emigration to Israel. The U.S would do well to leave ‘the burdensome stone’ alone if it doesn’t want to suffer the same fate. Blinken and his U.S State department arab ass kissers can pound sand. ‘I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curseth thee’. Just as real as the law of gravity.
Didn’t they already try that 20 years ago?
Can the corridor between Ghaza and Judah and Samaria go through his living room?
Blinken, it is time to shut up.
Nobody is listening to you.
Israel will end this.
And they will want to pour money in which will be used to re-arm and the cycle repeats.
Sure, once we can create artificial wormholes.
Palestinian or Southern Syrian statehood already achieved - its called Jordan.
Thee is no such place called Palestine or people called Palestinians - that is all made up
That I don’t know.
His family’s been into left-wing politics for decades; I can’t find what branch of the faith he practices, but safe to assume it isn’t Orthodox. His father Donald was Clinton’s ambassador to Hungary. Tony himself used to work for Obama of course. And there are strong ties between his family and Soros.

No. Jordan was never “Palestine”; that was always Israel.
Even if the USA stays out of this, it won’t save itself. The time of trouble comes upon the whole earth.
It’s Jerusalem that’s named as the “burdensome stone” in the Bible, BTW.
Replace Palestine with Israel and say it out loud. Then ask Why can’t that happen? What do you think? You sound like the flip side of a Hamas record.
Blinken said this in Japan, where the US dropped two H bombs and then occupied the country for seven years between 1945-1952. Ironic.
I understand there’s video footage of the 10/7 massacre and the horrific brutality that followed. Maybe Blinken’s judgement would improve upon extensive review of the material.
