Authorities were combing New Jersey woods for a man wanted on charges related to the January 6 riot at the Capitol.
The search for 46-year-old Gregory Yetman began around 9am on Main Street in Helmetta, as police were trying to serve a warrant.
The FBI described him as a white man in his 40s wearing a red jacket and a ball cap.
Yetman fled into a wooded area, according to officials, who said he may be armed.
Spotswood Public Schools sheltered in place and local streets were closed.
Tactical teams could be seen in the backyard of homes. Aerial footage showed law enforcement searching Yetman's backyard and a shed.
The 46-year-old is wanted in connection with the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
In a desperate plea to put a name to the man, photos circulated online showing a glimpse of his face.
Another image depicted him wearing a face gaiter and clutching a canister of pepper spray canister.
While the charges he faces are unclear, Yetman was labelled '#278 AFO' by the FBI before his identity was unmasked.
'AFO' stands for 'Assault on a Federal Officer.'
At the time of the insurrection, he was a military police sergeant in the New Jersey National Guard.
He continued to serve until he was honorably discharged in March 2022.

NJ National Guard is not a slouch outfit.Schwarzenegger’s dad was head of NJ State Patrol which had the same powers then as the militia.

Funny how left wing groups are never held to the same standard. Recently it was the Hamas's Mordor supporters with a dem congresswomen leading them.
Code Pink did it regularly during Bush's tour. Animal supporters, climate change zealots, sexual deviants you name the cause and they have disrupted congressional proceedings. None of these people received any punishment beyond a civil ticket.

Originally SWAT was created for when you had that wave of Black Panther and Weather Underground extremely violent bank robberies, the SLA cornered in a house, etc.
Now every city has one, and they seem to use them constantly for the most trivial arrests.
This man for example. In the old days two clean cut men in sport coats would knock on his door. Now they hit with full fury and look like scrotes with beards and full paratrooper garb.
