The House voted 234-188 to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., over her remarks related to Israel and Palestinians. Twenty two Democrats joined Republicans in voting to formally rebuke Tlaib for her comments.
The measure, which accuses Tlaib of "promoting false narratives regarding the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel and for calling for the destruction of the state of Israel," is the second attempt to formally punish Tlaib over her comments about the war.
Tlaib, the only Palestinian American in Congress, has made several controversial comments about the war. She has defended her comments and says she is simply availing herself of freedom of speech.
Censure is a symbolic move where the member who has been censured is called to the House floor as the Speaker of the House reads the text of the measure.
Members from both parties have criticized her comments, but most Democrats say they do not support censure as a response.
Among the comments in question is a post on the social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, where Tlaib shared a video featuring a Palestinian slogan that has been called antisemitic.
“I guess the Dims have rubbed off on McClintock. He used to be a solid conservative”
So was Buck when he was 1st elected. Now people are glad he’s leaving.
She and her ilk should be banished and sent back to the sh##hole from whence they came
RE: Didn’t they vote against it last week?

Yes, and then a new censure resolution was written that got more support.
The earlier one by Rep. M.T. Greene of Georgia led off with the following, including the word “insurrection”, referring to the protest/riot by Palestinian supporters at the Capitol.
<<>> Censuring Representative Rashida Tlaib for antisemitic activity, sympathizing with terrorist organizations, and leading an insurrection at the United States Capitol Complex.

Today’s successful resolution was sponsored by Rep. Richard McCormick of Georgia, and the text is here:

Censure to Tlaib is the same as saying “bad dog” to a pit bull. Meaningless.
strongly worded letter.
About damn time...
Yeah there is that.
I remember when McClintock was all the rage here on Free Republic when he made his debut. How things change...
In an open letter, Dr. M. A. Muqtedar Khan told Osama bin Laden to "”go to Hell":
Before we rush to condemn America we must remember that even today millions of poor and miserable people all across the world are lining up outside US embassies eager to come to America, not just to live here but to become an American. No Muslim country today, can claim that people of other nations and other faiths see it as a promise of hope, equality, dignity and prosperity."
Or course there are radicals and it is always wise to be aware of threats. But when Trump was President, he came really close to delivering peace in the Middle East by ENGAGING with Saudi Arabia. Indeed, his Jewish daughter and Jewish son-in-law were brokering deals.
Bidet undid all of that goodwill. And Muslims are peeved at him. Conservatives should be lining up to redpill.
Waiting for a reply with the word “Taqiya” in 3…2…
I was hoping for ‘double-secret probation’ at least.
“Tlaib, the only Palestinian American in Congress...”
That’s one of the big problems, identity confusion. You’re either an AMERICAN or you’re not. We used to have a pretty concise definition of what being an AMERICAN was. Today, there seems to be no definition. I believe Teddy Roosevelt’s take on immigration was the correct one, and diverting from it has put AMERICA on the path to self-destruction.
The vote should have been, shall we expel her from Congress, then drag the lying b**** outside, and beat her with steel pipes at the feet of the U.S. Grant memorial?
Saw her crocodile tears.
Surprised at Tom McClintock’s nay vote. A longtime strong conservative voice in California, I notice that he has been voting with the Democrat/Communists lately ... very disappointing.
Good start, better be more to follow.

So it stifling freedom of speech does not apply to DJT! &%$$^*
For attempting support of Hamas, she is begging for a lot of possible trouble.
